  • Not a bad price if you need to use it soon or if your supply is low. Sometimes it can go for as low as $5 if you can last that long.

  • I see a lot of posts on OzBargain about heavily discounted SIM's… do a lot of people constantly change provider in order to realise savings? I assumed it would be too much trouble?

    • assumed it would be too much trouble?

Depends on the provider. Some are more troublesome than others. With a good provider, it takes about 60 seconds to activate a pre-paid starter pack and port a number … so not that much hassle.

However, there are several providers offering plans for $10/month, so the savings in switching providers every month aren't huge these days.

      • Any Telstra networked resellers eho do $10/month unlimited text and mins?

Best I've found is Aldi at $15/month but only 1.5GB

        • I believe lycamobile is on the telstra network and they have a plan for $10/month. There's some comments on whirlpool about it being the 'telstra wholesale footprint', not the entire telstra footprint.

      • Wow, I had no idea you could port a number in 60 seconds! Good info. Just searched and found this oz bargain guide to sim hopping
