Cashrewards Refer-a-Friend: $10 for Referrer, $10 Instantly Approved for Friend

2330

Hi all. We've just doubled our Refer-a-Friend rate for a limited time. Simply click the link and request friends to sign up. Once your friends sign up, they will each get $10 instantly approved in their new accounts. As the referrer, you will also instantly get a $10 pending amount paid into your account once the friend signs up. What's the catch? The friend must make at least one qualifying purchase of $20 or more within 90 days of joining for your $10 to move from pending to approved. The friend must have at least $10.01 in their new accounts before they can withdraw their funds. Increase ends December 17, 2018. Happy shopping, and thanks for the support :)

In summary…

  • Friend receives $10 (approved) upon signing up.
  • Referrer receives $10 (pending) upon friend signing up.
  • Referrer's $10 moves to approved once friend makes at least one qualifying purchase of $20 or more within 90 days of sign-up and transaction is approved.
  • A qualifying purchase means any purchase through Cashrewards which results in cashback to member (therefore excludes WISH cards etc).
  • Referrer Bonuses are exempt from redemption until friend has accumulated $10.01 (friend must have at least $10.01 approved in account).
  • Friend must be a unique individual, who is not a member of your household (including yourself), and who has not previously registered with Cashrewards.
  • Please read the full Refer-a-Friend Terms & Conditions here.

I'll just add this message which I've mentioned across a few posts recently. A few months ago, our development team introduced a number of fraud detection tools as we discovered more and more accounts were being opened purely for the purposes of gaming the system. This is (1) costing us loss of revenue, (2) is a terrible look and not instilling much confidence for our hundreds of merchants as they decline transactions they consider 'fraudulent', and (3) is against our terms & conditions regarding creation of multiple accounts.

A perfect example is the recent Amaysim promo where we found numerous members creating new accounts purely to take advantage of 'free money' and then attempting to immediately cash out with no intention of ever using those accounts again. Not only is this strictly against our terms, but it's spoiling it for the hundreds of thousands of genuine members we have, as merchants then become hesitant to provide promos and higher cashback rates. We all lose.

So please note, if we detect accounts are being created purely to game the system, they will be shut down and monies forfeited as per our terms & conditions. All we want is a fair and level playing field for members and merchants alike. Thank you.

  • can't seem to find my referral code even though I clicked through the refer a friend section :/

    • Hi. Make sure you're logged into Cashrewards, then click this link. You'll see your referral code here.

      • Same goes for me. When I click that link it only shows a picture of 4 people looking at their phones. Nothing else

        • Hi gamesdead & pyro. I've tried on every browser I have and can't replicate your issue. Sorry! Hopefully others can offer advice.

Works for me. Gotta make sure you're logged in!

@tightarse: Ah it is ok, I switched from chrome to microsoft edge and it came out.

I've just done some extensive testing across different browsers and browser addins and I've found the culprit.

Turn your uBlock Origin (adblock) off on Cashrewards as it's blocking their referral program !!!!

Not surprising since uBlock Origin will often warn about tracking when you click through CR to a merchant. It's not an issue for Adblock Plus and a few other adblockers I tested as those companies allow advertisers to be whitelisted for a fee, unlike uBlock Origin who do not.

To be sure I triple checked uBlock's console and it showed the scripts being blocked that show the referral popup. After turning off uBlock it showed.

  • A nice deal.

  • What happened to Book Depository? I logged into my Cash Rewards account the other day with the intention of placing a large order with Book Depository and I couldn't find any reference to it on the website. It wasn't in my favourites and didn't come up in a search.

    • Hey pointscrazy. Definitely live on site…

Thanks. Something was up on 27/03/18 as I couldn't find it then. Good to know it's there for future reference.

      • It might have been a javascript issue when it didn't come up on a search.

The cash back rate for new orders has changed. In this situation, is it possible it got removed from my favourites because of a change in conditions? I've put it back in my favourites.

        • is it possible it got removed from my favourites because of a change in conditions?

I believe not. Will hit the dev team up with this question, but I can't see a reason it would have disappeared from your favourites list. Will ping you if I find there may have been an issue at our end. Thanks.

I've been using Cashrewards for 3.5 years.
I'd say about 99% of the transactions are been tracked without any issues.
Occasionally, there might be a delay with getting the payment, but making an enquiry almost always resolves the issue.
I had one transaction which for some odd reason wasn't approved after well over 90 days, but TA resolved the issue in no time.
Taking a chance, would like to thank TA for his help, as well as for frequently posting great deals.

  • I bought something on david jones last night but now I still haven't received the cash back

    • As long as you didn't purchase one of the excluded products, can take up to 7 days…

      https://www.cashrewards.com.au/david-jones

Rewards may take 7 days to be credited to your account. You will receive an email to advise your rewards are pending and awaiting confirmation.

  • Refer a friend last month and who brought a laptop via cashreward, he got the laptop yesterday but the referral $5 still waiting approval for both of us… How long do we have to wait "Normally" ?

    • Hi dlovep. The referred friend has the $5 approved into his/her account immediately on sign-up, so this should not be pending. Your $5 moves to approved once the laptop transaction is approved by Lenovo (returns period has passed). Please ping me and I'll look into this for you and provide further explanation. Thanks

All Good TA, just have to wait for the approval, cheers.

        • @tightarse: see you on next deal :D

Is buying WISH gift cards a qualifying purchase?

    • Unfortunately no. Clearly stated in the OP…

A qualifying purchase means any purchase through Cashrewards which results in cashback to member (therefore excludes WISH cards etc).

  • Does friend have to spend more than $20 or exactly $20 is okay? The email made it sound like it has to be more while your post suggests exactly is okay.

    • Exactly is fine. Official T&Cs…

who makes at least one single Qualifying Purchase (transaction) of at least twenty dollars ($20.00 AUD) through the Service within ninety (90) days after signing up

  • I've been having issues with Cashrewards lately
My experience toady, Cashrewards advertised as 10% cashback for Hotels.com then when I actually booked it only tracked as 4.8%
It did happen to me once back in March 2018 (expedia)

anyone has similar issue ? let me know
I sent email to them, wait for their response

      Update//-
I’ve contacted TA regarding issues and the Expedia issue is resolved now.
I have to admit that hotels.com is my fault, the cash back only applies when I check out as a guest, not as a hotels.com member rewards.

Again thanks TA for your help

  • Meh not being a member in your house hold etc is a little much. I got my mum to sign up for the service made a purchase over $20 & then read that. Really we aren't trying to take advantage of this offer. So we are going to delete her cash rewards account as result.

  • How long does it take for this $10 to show in your account?

I just signed up via a friends referral link, and I can't see $10 in my account anywhere.

  • Could this be why I’m still awaiting approval ( legitimate friend referral ) ? Starting Way back in March till May both $5 and $10 referrals please note I’m not sure if everyone made a qualifying purchase but I’m 100% that 3 had made purchases

  • Are you supposed to get the $10 immediately when you sign up using someone else's refferal thing? Because I just signed up and I still dont have the $10

    • Did you get your cashback eventually? My friend told me the same thing, he didn't get $10 on sign up.
