Samsung Galaxy S9+ 64GB Black $1139.05, Sony WH-1000XM2 Wireless Headphones $322.05 @ Mobileciti eBay

530
PULL5

Hi all,

Two eBay deals for Mobileciti. Lowest price ever offered for Australian stock of the S9+ I believe, already over $200 under its RRP of $1349.

Samsung's latest flagship release, the S9+ has a large minimal-bezel 6.2" AMOLED QHD screen, Dual 12MP back cameras, latest Exynos 9810 chip, and 6GB of RAM.

Not the lowest ever, but still a good price for these extremely popular Sony ANC headphones. Many reviews praise both its sound quality and noise cancellation.

As usual, you'll get 100% Australian Stock, Local Manufaturers Warranty, GST Invoice, and TRS eligible.

All items are in stock and ready to dispatch. Thanks!

I paid $375.00 for the Sony's, I don't normally pay that much for exotic electronics but due to noise from neighbours in my building I did and haven't regretted it

Isnt the exynos chip more for Korean market? That means it cant be Australian stock.

Also, quick google search shows the performance of exynos is subpar to snapdragon chipped devices.

    • +4

The SM-G965FZKAXSA is australia model with Exynos processor. In fact, Australian Samsungs tend to be getting Exynos while the Americans get the Snapdragons.

The Snapdragon models are as follows:
      SM-G9600 (China, HK locale)
      SM-G960T (T-Mobile)
SM-G960U (Sprint, Verizon, AT&T and Other US Cellular)
      SM-G960W (Canada)

      While the Exynos models are
SM-G960FD (South East Asia, The 'D' means Dual Sim)
      SM-G960N (Korea)
      SM-G9608 (China)
      SM-G960F (Rest of the World)
      SM-G965FZKAXSA (Australian)

But you don't want to be buying the American model because they are usually tied to a carrier and have the associated bloatware that comes with it. And the HK Model does not fit the Australia telecom bands.

    • Exynos chips just get root faster, but does not mean it's not AU stock. Snapdragon is harder to root but it's been achieved for both SD Note 8 and S9, both chips are just as fast as each other.

"Snapdragon if you are interested in playing emulators or want the best GPU.
Exynos if you want rom support."

      • It's all to do with CDMA support. Qualcomm has the patents, Samsung don't. Same goes with CDMA iPhones using the Qualcomm modems instead of Intel on the GSM networks.

      • +1

Rooting on Samsung is no longer ideal due to Knox triggers counter that can't be reset for warranty

Therefore it doesn't matter except snapdragon has better GPU meaning Aussies lose out.

        • -1

Meh, my Note 8 is HK (N9500) and warranty isn't an issue as it's from overseas.

Besides, the current root method for Note 8 and S9 won't trip Knox, it's systemless so it doesn't touch primary partition

    • Hi StrangeDisposition,

Australian models of the S9/S9+ all come with Exynos chipsets. Thanks

I'm so on the fence in getting this. I don't really need a phone currently on a OnePlus 3t. Someone give me the shove.

    • Me too!

    • +1

You don't need a new phone. You'll only use it for Facebook/Whatsapp/internet browsing anyway.

      There you go.

      • +1

Haha I don't use social media. So just the internet browsing part

    • +1

You don't have anywhere else for the $1100 to go?

      • U always do but hey, I love my technology #nerd

    • +2

As much as I would like an upgrade to enjoy faster speeds and a better camera, I cannot justify spending 1k+ on a new phone. The prices have gone crazy, it's just a bloody phone and 95% of the time I am only using it for emails and web browsing. Current phone camera is good enough, have a real camera when better quality is needed. It is just the slowness that is frustrating sometimes.

      • I suppose the OnePlus 3t is no slouch. Has some bad low light photos.

        What are you currently using

        • Galaxy S6, it is still a decent phone in most ways. I like that it has NFC and a IR blaster, and the camera is still good for casual photos. It just gets a bit laggy when browsing the web with multiple tabs and using some applications.

        • @nubzy: I agree! I also use Galaxy S6 and it does the job for me. I work in IT and we set user emails on phones. Everyday at least 2-3 users would come to us with a new phone to reset email profile. (And I am like damn, another 1k+ spent.) Mostly they bring iPhones but they are damn expensive - whether Samsung or iPhone. To be honest, I am not much into photos and I mainly browse the internet, watch downloaded movies and play some basic games. It still does a good job for me.

        • @divyesh123:

And if you are in IT, your S6 is a security risk as Samsung has reporly stop the update for them.

        • @nubzy: the lag really got to me on S6, you should consider getting the S7 or S8 for a bit cheaper.

  • Is it a good idea to change pixel 2 xl for s9 plus? Lack of headphone jack is getting annoying especially when trying to charge and use headphones at the same time

    • +2

Well, that there is one reason to keep the S9+. I can think of a few other reasons - expandable storage (if that's your thing), Samsung Pay, a top-notch screen, reliable Bluetooth, water resistance etc.

      • I am considering the same

      • +1

Jumped the gun when i managed to get one for $950 off gumtree. I must say i haven't regretted changing from the Pixel so far. Stock Android is smoother and more fluid but it lacks some features that Samsung has out of the box:

        • Better screenshot features
        • Ability to customise AOD and the best part is able to set the time frame of when AOD is on
        • options to toggle sound, vibrate or no sound and NFC in the quick setting. i had to install an app to be able to add this for the pixel.
        • headphone jack and expandable storage.. i don't need to upload to google photos and delete photos from my phone storage in order to save space. I know someone will say that's why u don't need expandable storage but there was issue when i try to share a photo from inside an app and i can't find the photos from my local device folder because it's been deleted. Some apps allow navigation to google photos but some don't so i had to share via google photos and then select the app from the list.

That's all i can think so far but i am finding pros more than cons to be honest

        • I'm slightly confused. Do you mean you currently use a Pixel and that Google's offering has more pros than cons when compared with Sammy's?

        • @albert0pia: I meant Sammy's had more pros as I had a pixel and now switched to S9 plus haha

        • @jo32011: You couldn't be more right. In as much as modern TouchWiz is bloated, I find a greater percentage of these added features quite useful and miss not having them on my current device. I'll consider Sammy again when they release a flagship with a 4000mAh battery.

  • If you try hard enough, you can easily get a S9 Plus 256GB local stock on Gumtree new and sealed from people who either bought it directly from Samsung or trying to offload the phone from a plan renewal.

I snagged a official telstra unlocked one for $1050.

    • -1

No TRS, no tax claim or deduction. And of course difficult to claim warranty if phone registered on a contract to a different person. Also recently a friend brought of Gumtree and the scum lodged a lost insurance claim after few weeks and phone got blocked !! Hope your stays alive long enough

      • +1

Oh wow I am sure he can proved he bought it of that bloke. That this is fraud
I personally would not do trs as I am not traveling internationally any time soon. How does tax claim or deduction work

    • If got Vodafone one but on Telstra Sim. VoLTE doesn’t work and can’t flash to unbranded.

      • This isn't a vodaphone version tho?

    • Yep. Sold one for $1200 and another for $1100.

  • Any deals on Galaxy S8?

    • Hi spammingb,

Thanks for your interest, unfortunately we currently don't have any deals on the S8.

      • Any ideas when? I am looking for one too..

    • I went to Samsung at Sydney (next to Myers) a few days ago. The Samsung person over the counter offered me Samsung S8 64GB RRP AUD 999.00, she can offer me AUD200 off (She calls it S8 Promotion), so I can get it for AUD799.

      • There is no official poster in the store about this "S8 Promotion"
      • I suspect the RRP of Samsung phones, especially older models is expected to pricedrop soon considering Newer Phones were recently released. Samsung S9, Huawei P20, etc…
      • Or it could be a "Staff Discount" -20% (or AUD200); trying to clear out older phone models. She is either trying to meet a Sales Quota for the month or possibly even trying to be nice; providing good customer service.
      • I checked gumtree.com.au, there are ppl selling Samsung S8 (brand new, Australian stock, sealed, still in box) for even lesser than AUD799…. (just make sure you ask for the receipt), check that its Australian stock (simply look at the back of the phone, it should have a triangle with a circle and a tick symbol)

No harm trying to ask them about their "S8 Promotion"

  • I'm on the fence about the headphones. Are they a good buy, should I wait for a cheaper deal or wait for a deal on the the QC35s

    • I paid $340 for the MDR1000X about 6 months ago after comparing them to QC35 and haven’t regretted my decision since. If I hadn’t bought them then, I’d definitely jump on these now.

    • +1

Wait. You recently missed out on a $270 deal for the sonys.

    • The sony's are awesome. Ive tried both QC35 and Sony and preferred the latter

    • It depends. The Sony will provide the better audio quality but there are some issues with regards to build quality (headband cracking) which still haven't been fixed and perhaps if your head is quite big (i.e. wearing size 7 7/8 hats like myself).

  • +2

Damn. First time know Au stock S9 uses Exynos instead of Snapdragon while most reviews said Snapdragon is better.

    • It has always been same with previous s6/s6 edge, s6 edge+, s7/s7 edge and s8/s8+ for Australian Model. Correct me anyone if I am wrong but only s5 model had Snapdragon 801.

      • +1

Exynos used to be better, but today's Exynos9810 is weaker in GPU and power consumption than SD845.

  • Would the TRS amount be for $1199 which means $1090 after GST back? And add the voucher $59.95 meaning $1030.05?

    • Hi j450n74y,

Yes, your calculations are correct. Thanks

  • +2

Holy crap, ordered yesterday about 10 minutes after this deal came up. Already in my hands in Canberra. Excellent work Mobileciti!

  • +2

Any chance of getting a similar deal on the S9+ 256gb model?

  • Am thinking of the S9 Plus 256 GB….any deals coming up?

  • Ordered this morning with made4you eBay code. The order was Cancelled by mobileciti and told by them that I had cancelled it and that I should reorder, however it won't let me add it too my cart. Sounds fishy to me.

  • headphones now out of stock

  • Can someone explain how to get the phone for $1139.05? It's listed in ebay for $1,305.80. PULL5 takes off 5%, which is $1,240.51, about $100 more than the bargain listed. Is there something I'm missing?

    • Hi Samyool,

Sorry but unfortunately the deal is now over. Have reported to ask a mod to expire the deal.
