Thanks Morrij, great price. I already own a couple of these and they are great.

But my next purchase will be the smart version, whenever it is properly released and there is a good deal on it.

    • What does the smart version do?
      Link ?

      • They haven't been released yet, but you can turn the whole board on/off through the app, monitor electricity usage and set up timers etc.

        Just like the Smart Sockets.

They have released one so far, but for obvious reasons It's not entirely suitable.

        https://www.gearbest.com/electronics-gadgets/pp_310701.html

But they are supposed to release proper 6 plug and 3 plug versions.

That's what I'm waiting for. I bought this board thinking it was a smart model! Derr me.

        • I bought one of these in china, works great. It also monitors power usage.

    • This isn't the greatest price we've ever had and it's certainly not the greatest product, but it works (and buzzes at night) for me.

      • Unfortunately, Xiaomi seem to have raised their prices a bit across their range.

Waiting for the comment "if this is going to burn down my house"…

    • +4

Not just your house, simply owning one of these will void your car insurance and that of everyone else in your street. True story, it happened to a friend's cousin's best mate just last week!

      • Proof?

        • +3

I read it on Facebook. From memory it was in Russian.

        • No proof survived the blaze.

      • So Xiaomi isn’t good? Just asking because I see lots of deals on it with the various items and definitely wouldn’t mind buying this for new apartment - hook up the tv and other stuff so always worried about these types of comments whether people are telling the truth or exaggerating

if this is going to burn down my house…

  • +10

House burned down but the powerstrip survived and ready for next house.

    • thank god the powerstrip is fine, save up from buying a new one $13.27

    • Sounds like a good movie (… franchise)

Better than bunnings bla bla… I have a degree in Electrical Engineering bla bla…

Good lord it has "Non-slip pads on four feet"
    Its a "must have"
Forget the insurance - who buys that crap anyway.

    • IT'LL BURN UR HOUSE DOWN N SHEEEIIT!

  • ozbargained?
    edit: the link working again

  • Is it worth getting the Belkin ones or are these just as good?

  • -1

serious question for someone who has zero experience with this item…

is it dangerous to use at all? Or perfectly safe?

I'm no electrician/electrical engineer and don't understand the differences between a power board made for China vs a power board made for Aus…

    • +1

Asked a million times before. I'll answer the same. All good. I have several. Much better than what I get at bunnings / kmart etc.

      • How long is the extension cord? It doesn't seem to be mentioned anywhere in the description.

        • Quite long, 1.5 or 1.8m. Longer than most powerboards.

        • Agreed very long. I have to wrap mine around the strip 3 times to shorten cord to 20cm to avoid being a trip hazard

    • This is a good quality power strip the only downside I have found is if you want to use the big adapter then this is not for you.

    • The problem isn't so much whether or not they are good to use it is the fact they aren't certified as being safe. That is the problem.

      • In the event that something happens - however rare - would that pose an issue for insurance claims?

        • I wouldn't know.

I guess it depends on the insurer and whether it was traced back to the device and how hard they wanted to push it.

      shut up

  • I'm looking for an adapter that changes a CN plug into an AU plug. Yes I know it's just an upside-down AU plug, but I don't like how the cord hangs off it from the top and not the bottom.

I want an adapter that takes in a CN plug the right way up instead of cord hanging off the top.

Or am I just being silly?

  • Still waiting for mine I ordered about 4-5 weeks ago

  • So am I right in saying this can’t be used for Hong Kong (UK) plugs? But okay for China plugs and Aussie plugs?

  • still waiting mine to be delivered from the last deal.
it seems to take forever to get here…

    • as long as you keep ordering xiaomi products they'll slowly come in and you'll get one every couple of weeks.

    • Just got it yesterday. Tracking postage was really on point this time (8 days delivery) but the processing time in 24 hours is a sham

      • for some reason.. mine took 11 days to process and ship out (wonder why?) and has traveled from China to HK and now at Germany! o_O!?
also, all my order history and tickets raised on the website are gone and wiped clean! something fishy here?

        • Mine also took nearly 2 weeks to ship out. But delivery is on point. You should probably raise another ticket

  • still waiting on delivery of this from the last deal

Ive been looking for a powerboard that is "Concise and delicate as ornaments of your house.

    "

  • Is there any english Xiaomi app yet. I hate setting new products up. For a major their App is a mega let down

    • Most of it is.

    • +2

      1) Open the Mi home app on your phone. If you see any Chinese menu options, proceed to step 2.
      2) Install Google translate app on another phone with a camera.
      3) Open Google translate app and point the camera to the Chinese text
      4) It live translates all the options to your preferred language. It’s like magic.
      5) Select the option you prefer.
      Simples ; )

  • I don't know why but the USB ports that charging my Samsung phone is really slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

these are only 8 aud on taobao. .it is only a good deal when delived to Au at taobao price or lower.

    • Cheaper elsewhere, link us up.

¥132.00 is the cheapest I found and its not $8aud, its $28AUD

  • No more free shipping?

  • It's been 5 days since order marked as posted but the tracking still showing "This number can't be found at this moment".

    Can anyone confirm?

    • +1

      That's normal, I wouldn't worry just yet.

I have always received all my orders from LightInTheBox in average time.

    • morning mate, you can pm me order number. so i can better check it for you

      • Cheers, I sent message and customer service has responded quickly.

They assured me it has been sent even the tracking is slow to update, so I guess I have to trust them!

        • :) ok, feel free to knock me here when you need any help

        • @MiniInTheBox: Today I got another (different) tracking number for my same order. What happened?? Lost trust to LITB now.

        • @davemurphy: morning mate, do you mind give me your order number? then i can check what's wrong.

        • @MiniInTheBox: I sent another message to LITB why I got two different tracking numbers. They replied immediately with same generic message, then I replied back asking if they gave me fake tracking number? No reply since then.

Know what, don't worry. I appreciate your offer to help me but don't need to waste energy dealing with this :)
Sure it will arrive otherwise I have Paypal on my back if anything goes awry!

        • @davemurphy: Same experience here. Looking at the order it's probably the AU converter was sent first without tracking. Then weeks later the board shipped with tracking. That's my guess anyway.

  • +2

Order on the 11th, only shipped today…. Jesus, nothings changed since my banter last year about LITB

    • Also paid on 11th, but got it yesterday, not too bad.
