        You need a US billing address. Haven’t found a cheap enough method of doing that to make it worthwhile.

        • They won't post anything in the mail anyway. Just use the address of a US hotel.

          @splathowa: Oh nevermind, you guys rock! The billing address has to be on the credit card that is default payment method on Audible. I was trying to change addresses in Amazon. Thanks!!!

      Try editing the credit card's address to a US address (or UK depending on the book) under Account Details > Manage credit cards.

      If that doesn't work, on Amazon.com delete all addresses and as well as credit cards from payment options.

      Then return to Audible, add a free audiobook (to avoid accidentally applying a credit) to your cart and proceed to checkout. It should prompt you to add your details. Just back out of the purchase once you reach the place order stage if you don't want the audiobook.

      on the app, when you sign in you need to change the region. Otherwise it will default to the Aus library and your credits won't appear.

        To change region:

        Android Devices:
        Tap the left navigation menu.
        Tap Settings.
        Tap Sign out …
        Tap Ok.
        From the main screen of the Audible app, tap Marketplace:
        Choose a marketplace by tapping on it, followed by tapping I'm already using Audible. Sign in. …
        After signing in, go to your Cloud or Device sections to check for your content.

        iPhone / iPad:
        Tap More at the bottom of the screen.
        Tap Settings.
        Tap Sign Out and confirm you are signing out by tapping Sign Out again.
        Tap Sign In.
        Tap Marketplace:.
        Choose a marketplace by tapping on it.
        Tap Sign In and continue signing in with your account information.

        Hooray! Now your Audible content is showing in your library.

    App doesn't seem to recognize the US audible site it keeps telling me to start free trial. Anyone got the same issue?

    LifeProTip - get Overdrive/Libby app, and go to your local library and get library card, then you'll be able to borrow ebooks/audiobooks. IIRC, for VIC, Eastern Regional Libraries have the biggest selection of audiobooks.

      You should also be able to sign up for pretty much any library in your state. Many of them you can sign up online.you get DRM free audiobooks for most (all?) of the audiobooks, so you can listen to them any time on any device that plays mp3s. Then you can just delete them when your loan expires.

      I managed to sign up to a few US libraries too - CLEVNET, Metropolitan/Oklahoma and Chicago. I think CLEVNET has the most stuff and good limits, I haven't used it in a while. I can't remember the signup process as it was a few years ago.

    I do have both a us and au amazon account though so has anyone tried if this would still work? Im not having any luck :/

      I had a USD account before they opened the AU shop. i tried the link and it worked with my old USD account

    • Update - managed to get it despite not having an existing audible.com account by clicking on the link. Only issue is I have all my books on au audibe account so will need to sign out of the app and sign back in with the us account to be able to listen to these two new books on my phone..

  • struggled to find the 1 book credit on my iphone, but after trying it on my laptop and using firefox, i found the free book credit…downloading my first free book now.. 200 MB file size.

  • When I click on the link it redirects to audible.com.au… Then choosing to go to the audible.com website, there's a button to claim offer, but the offer expires 28/2. What am I doing wrong?

    • If you're using a mobile device, try the updated link. If still doesn't work use desktop mode or redeem the offer on a desktop/laptop.

    I got one free credit after signing up which I used to purchase a book. When I go onto the App I cant see the book I bought though… very confused. Also, is the two credits supposed to come in at the start?

    • Same here, then realized the audible app in my iPhone is belong to audible.com.au not audible.com. I think that's the reason. Not sure how to solve this issue. I just wrote an email to the customer center, let's see how it is going.

    • Only one free credit , audible will provide date when you will get the next remaining one credit under Account option. When you go on the app you cant see coz you are in another market place usually you are in .au market place. Heres how to solve. Signout , refresh the app. Open the app - now Before signing in , when you open the app on the first page itself look at the bottom , you can change your marketplace here from .au to .com . Then sign in and you are all set

    • Go into your account details on audible.com - check "view membership details". In my case it says "Your next credit date: 05-11-18". So my first month is to 11th May (being American, they reverse the month/day), and my second month would be until 11th of June. Just need to put a reminder in the calendar to cancel well before then (unless of course it turns out I want to keep it).

  • Thanks OP - I'm going to be flying to/from Singapore soon so this should fill in the 8 or so hours each way. I must say I do tend to prefer reading actual books, but the $10 bonus was a nice touch to encourage me to give it a go. Weird thing is that some audio books are not available on the US site but are on the Aus site - for example Terry Pratchett "Colour of Magic" (https://www.audible.com.au/pd/Sci-Fi-Fantasy/The-Colour-of-M…) is not available in the US [yes, checked for "Color of Magic" as well…. :-) ]. Same with the Harry Potter series read by Stephen Fry (https://www.audible.com.au/pd/Children/Harry-Potter-and-the-…), although instead they have versions read by Jim Dale (eg https://www.audible.com/pd/Kids/Harry-Potter-and-the-Sorcere…). Maybe it's something to do with the contracts with the narrators…..

    You can now save $9 off the monthly price for the first 4 months. So $7.45 pm for first 4 month.
    After 4 months it goes back up to $16.45.
    Wonder if we can accept that promo after cancelling this promo?

    • I think received the same offer, but it's definitely for the audible.com.au site. If that's the case you should be able to use the promo without cancelling this one.

    • You could be seeing the issue that I had. I registered for thsi deal on the PC which showed 1 credit but when i opened the Android app there were no credits. It turned out that my phone was logged on to the AUS site & this is for the US site.
