        • @bubber: Ordered the 60" on 11 April 2018 at 16:51. Got Sony confirmation but nothing further. Definitely no DHL tracking. Sony website still just says 'processing' and their support have no idea the actual status.

        • @Hybroid: I have heard from many people that Sony online Australia are terrible to deal with, but I thought by now they might have got their act together but it seems not.

        • @jaym84: Congrats that's quite lucky. Have called yesterday and today and all I get is 'we'll check and let you know. Tried the chat on their website and after several tries to get through I simply get 'we have limited tools our side to check and someone will get back to you. As a HUGE Sony fan, very very disappointed in their pathetically poor customer service. I'm not expecting free next day delivery but to not even know status a week after ordering?… Never ordering direct from them again, forget it.

          They are indeed horrible to deal with. An overseas call center with limited tools and no knowledge whatsoever. Have been calling daily and get different stories each time that contradict each other. I have submitted a formal complaint to them and suddenly get told I have a DHL CONNOTE number, that it was due for delivery today and it's DHL's fault due to system issues bla bla.

          Spoke to DHL and no such thing, the lady literally showed me on the tracking how it was created 20 mins ago while I was on the phone with Sony. They don't have the item yet and don't expect it to be delivered this week now. But they will definitely call day before and before the actual delivery due to weight.

          Very very disappointed in Sony's official store and support and will certainly never be ordering direct from them again. Makes you wish paid little more at JB/HN. So disappointed as they're one of my favourite brands too. :/

        • @Hybroid: yeah, unfortunately I'm in the same position as you. I was first told I'll have it by the end of the week, but they had no connote because of a glitch in the system. I called DHL and they had no idea, so called them back only to be told that they would have more stock on the 14th of May, and that it had not been sent out yet. Then, just to humour myself i went on online chat to ask as an anonymous customer when they would get more stock because I was interested in buying and was told 14 of June?? So, at this point I'm not too sure what to believe. It just seems like they are making it up as they go along… It must have been you that called DHL this morning, and spoke to the same person,because she told me that someone else called that had the exact same problem.. Lol

        • @bubber: Finally arrived today by DHL. They did call beforehand and delivered on-time.

          I don't think those May/June dates you are being given is correct. Sony seem to have an issue in their warehouse allocating/dispatching orders properly. Keep calling them and they'll fast track your order like they did for mine. Good luck!

  • Why is there a huge price difference in TV prices in US and Australia? For e.g.: Sony XBR49X900E MSRP at the official Sony US online store is $949.99 whereas the RRP for Sony 49X9000E (Same model) at the official Sony AUS online store is $2499.

      The US might not be the best example to compare prices with….different market and all that
      for example……1400 euro in the official dutch store (roughly AUD$2200) comes pretty close

  • I ordered the 43" just as a bedroom TV for Netflix.
    Ordered on 12th
    Got an invoice from Sony on the 13th saying it was dispatched and I received shipping details.
    Called Sony today on the 17th as the shipping details stated delivery on the 16th (so my partner took the day off) nothing came, I didn't have to chance to call within business hours because of my job. So I've taken today off (17th) in the hope of delivery….
    Called Sony, they reckon they have already given it to DHL.
    Called DHL, my item hasn't been scanned in so they can't see any update… Could be on its way she wasn't sure. So she has launched an investigation and an agent will call me back.
    That's my experience so far, my tracking details still say "created" like I can see it is for others as well.

    • Did you check your status recently? Give Sony people a call or maybe chat with them online and ask them the current status of your order… I just received my order, but haven't unpacked it yet.

        • Ordered 49X9000E… I'm in Sydney, NSW.

      • I called them. They told me they would have more stock after the 14th of May… I then called back and was told by the end of the week. I then asked for a supervisor and was told may again. I don't think they know what's going on to be honest.

        • Humn… As long as they are not cancelling the order due to the nature of flash sale and stock unavailability, I think it's all good.

    No time to open & setup now, but looking forward to some stellar images tonight.
