I got one and hopefully arriving today. I’m probaby one of the last people to not own a game console. Now waiting for a Logitech G29 deal to come by.

I would have thought the deal from Target currently has the Xbox One 1TB for $199 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/371711 as a better bang for bucks. That's a good console too. You could buy heaps of games with the left over odd $300 compared to this price for the PS4 Pro.
@hollykryten: I think the most likely scenario here is that he wants to be able to play with his friends, which is usually a key deciding factor on which console one purchases. I doubt saving some money to buy a lower-specced first edition XB1 is his top priority. Not to mention the fact that there is arguably a wider range of high-quality exclusives. Or maybe he just wants a PS4 because he can.
If you want an even better bang for your buck, you could buy my ps3 with 10 games and 3 controllers for $100. That's a good console too. You could buy heaps of games with the leftover odd $99 compared to this price for the first-gen xbox one.

To be fair, if you're just after the console this could be a pretty decent deal if you immediately sell GOW while people are still willing to buy it for ~$90 (you'd most likely instantly sell it by listing for $80). This would bring the price down to ~$430 which is still quite good. Obviously not as good as $399 deal from late last year or the $450 ebgames sale last week, but considering how rarely the Pro seems to get discounted recently it's worth considering.
So glad I pulled the trigger on the pro last year for $399
