Dropping the price to compete with Ikea? https://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/00305949/

    • I thought this was their competitor for the IKEA one as they've both been at the $50 mark for a while.

We bought the IKEA one cos it comes with a 10yr guarantee, given the stories you hear about the crappy tubes possibly leaking.

Haven't seen this Mondella one though; may have a better feel and build than the other two.

The Ikea one looks nicer, less joints on the body, easier to clean.

    Was this really $131?

Also this is for Kitchen yeah, not Bathroom Sink?

    • Why would you need a pull out mixer tap for a bathroom sink?

      • for convenience if you need to quickly wash some parts of the body without taking a shower…

So you stand in the sink? LoL

Why wouldn't you just stand in the shower and use the spray head to quickly wash some parts of the body?

        • @Maverick-au: May be some place dont have the luxury of that? in sydney for $1M you get just a square room with sink, toilet, bed :-)

        • @Maverick-au: no, you just put those parts in the sink…
on a serious note, many showers have fixed shower heads without extension hose, like this, and it can be not really convenient

Putting a hose on the shower is a lot easier then a new fitting on the bathroom sink!

  • Definitely stylish but doesn't have the higher pressure veggie sprayer attachment of this model. Just grabbed this one a couple of weeks ago.

    • Did you have difficulty tightening the nut that secures the mixer and bottom plate to the sink?

I found my previous estillo mixer to be a pain to install and remove

I use this, save me hours of frustration with spanner and plyers

Yeah, those are definitely good if you have the room to actually use it. Unfortunately for me, the cabinet underneath is extremely cramped and has the sink in the way. In Youtube videos, they often remove the whole sink for easier access but couldn't be bothered.

        • Thanks, i do have these at home, but the problem with my previous estillo was that the nut was so close to the hose that i couldn't turn the nut when trying to remove the mixer. I had to resort to making very small turns using a small spanner which was frustrating

Come to think of it, I should have removed the hoses first. ahahaha

        • @neil: I got similar problem, i got a double sink so no room at all. have to position the tube spanner with the tightening hole parrallel to the sink so you have room to stick the metal rod in the hole and just 1/8th turn at the time.

        • @hippocrit: Take out is ok, but putting in a new one, puting the hose in after will make it hard to tighten the hose under the cabinet.

No. This was the 2nd mixer I installed . Last mixer from eBay, had 2 long screws where you had to tighten 2 standard size nuts. Very fiddly.

This one has 1 long centre screw with a long nut that was easy to tighten with a wrench. Just have to make sure you have the tap positioned where you want it above and something to prevent it moving, then tighten. Only thing I don't like is that it takes more effort to pull out but not a big deal and perhaps can be adjusted with the weight.

    • Looks interesting, how does it work, do you switch between different spray patterns? Can it blast dirt of a potato, or is it like a shower that you could wash silverbeet leaves with?

      • +1

Only 2 modes, normal and let's call it shower. Enough to get stuff off a plate but it's not a power washer.

recently I bought an IKEA one. pretty good. Avoid most of the tap from bunnings since there are many bad reviews.

Thanks OP, bought this so my wife has something to do in the kitchen over the weekend.

  • Is it hard to convert a tap with separate hot/cold into one of these?

  • +2

If I really have to buy tapwares from Bunnings, it will only be Caroma and nothing else.

I have had some Mondella they are cheep steel. Keep your receipt and take it back for a new one in 12 months when it rust out. I went through 3 in 2 1/2 years.
If they tell you it has to be installed by a licensed plumber tell em their dreaming(i did).
