  • I've had these
They work fine but I needed a 128gb so I went with the Samsung

  • Samsung Evo Plus not good for dashcams? I don't care about warranty.

    • Been using the older EVO card in one of my dashcams for couple of years. No problem.

    • They are recommended on Dashcams Australia

    • I had one 128GB, failed within 6 months. The current generation of SD cards put itself in read-only mode when they fail, which allow the users to recover the data. But I could not delete the documents before sending back for warranty. The manufacturer did not allow me to physically damage the card before sending it back. I ended up keeping the card and did not claim the warranty.

So, you are right, the warranty is optional.

      • when using samsung evo on dashcam your warranty is void, it stated in t&c small fine print.

      • Hmm failing after only 6 months is just not good at all, esp. for 128GB ones.

This makes no sense, different cards are rated for different numbers of writes and some dashcams push cards to their limits especially higher end dual camera models.

And on top of this some cards will fail early whereas others will last a lot longer. Picking the wrong card for an application is just asking for trouble.

        • @Maverick-au:
So what are you really saying? Samsung Evo Plus is good for dashcams?

      • The current generation of SD cards put itself in read-only mode when they fail, which allow the users to recover the data.

When a SD card fails it can be read only but it can also be unreadable, corrupted or display a multitude of other issues.

To suggest that people don't need to backup cards or replace them when they are reaching their lifespan is terrible advice.

      • Consider electrically damaging the unit before sending off for warranty.

Plug card in to mSD to SD conversion device. Apple ample voltage to the SD converter pin (damaging mSD) without leaving any physical marks on the mSD connectors.

Test to ensure its dead so your data won't be read by anyone else.

        RMA card.

  • Do these work for Blackvue? I find Blackvue 650 very picky, its kind of okay with Lexar 300x

    • Works in mine

  • using the right sd card easily last you 5-6x longer on dashcam.

    • +1

      that's what she said…

  • Sd have limited number of write cycles and not much reserve for failed cells unlike an ssd drive which have extra space that is used as cells wear out.

  • Is this good for Canon Digital Camera as well, please?

    • Is this good for Canon Digital Camera as well, please?

Given your you have provided no information how can you expect someone to answer?

Canon make cameras that range from basic to high end SLRs and your usage also dictates the type of card.

But generally NO, you can can get a better faster SD card for the same money.

  • I ordered this over three weeks ago and I'm yet to receive it. Did anyone else not get theirs? Thanks.

I order lots of things online and this is the only one not to be delivered, so I'm hoping it's just a one-off.
