  • Got it, sweet thanks :)

    (9.0Mb if that matters)

  • Any idea how bandwidth-intensive this is? In other words, the MB per minute (or whatever)

    • I want to know as well as I'm on 3G.

    • not too sure, but it gives you 3 stream buffer options (small, med, large)..

    • It all depends on the kb/s of the feed and if it is mono or stereo. A 32 kb/s stream will use 1/4 the data a 128kb/s stream uses. A mono stream will 1/2 the data of a stereo stream of the same kb/s.

    • I use 20mins and that's about 15MB.
      So 45MB/hour . If you use it 3-4 hour a day, that's around 150MB

      • See my post above yours. It is dependent on what the bit-rate of the station you are listening to is at. You cannot just slap a figure on it.

  • I just got it…works great

I don't think it'd be too bandwidth intensive…the quality is more AM-like …although I'm using wifi so I'm not bothered as much.

I'm in Sydney and listening to Hot Tomato FM makes me feel like I'm interstate :)

Almost as good as digital radio?

  • was gonna post this.. but was a bit busy.. good job! :) its pretty good as a local radio app..

  • +1

Just had a quick test…it will be around 20MB per hour.

  • why is this better than tune in radio?

    • its not overall.. but better as a local radio app

    • Only because, unlike the clones, an iPhone doesn't have an radio in it.

  • i can't seem to get triple j working, is that just me or is everybody else battling as well?

    • +1

not working for me either.. but even worse.. theres no MIX 106.5.. cant get my "love song dedimications" :)

    • I am listening to Triple J right now over 3G from North Sydney. It's under "ABC Triple J"

Cutting in and out a bit, with buffering set to "Medium".

Was listing to 2GB while driving in the car and it worked flawlessly. But the 2GB stream I was listening to at that time might have been choked back to a low mono bitrate?

  • beautiful!!

  • Looks like only AM radio stations are working? Can get ABC Melbourne & 3MP, but not Fox, Mix, or Nova..

    • Nova 100, Gold 104 and Kiss FM have worked for me each time I tried. The only listed one I've tried so far that has failed is Triple J (although I've not tried many).

  • No triple J!
Why can't I get sky sports racing? 1017 Sydney I would like to listen to the big sports breakfast!!

  • There is a request station option in the app.

  • HEY - re: Triple J…

We just found that the WiFi in our office was down. Rebooted the router and suddenly JJJ wouldn't connect! Turned off WiFi and went back to 3G, and it connects and plays.

OK, so then I connected via 3G then turned on WiFi and JJJ kept playing. But if I change to another station then back to JJJ (while on WiFi) then JJJ won't connect again WTF?????

My phone is on Telstra Business. The WiFi is on Telstra ADSL (IP resolves to TELSTRAINTERNET47-AU)
