Been trying to decide between this and anspark for a while… Retails about 999$ at JB

This includes the following listed form Amazon but also includes their 'in app upgrades' of tracking and waypoint navigation (I think usually 20$ each).

Cheapest price according to camelcamelcamel. For all the handy extras I feel like overall this wins out over a spark kit

In the Box
1 Parrot Bebop 2 Power

1 Parrot Skycontroller 2

1 Parrot Cockpitglasses 2

2 Power batteries

4 propellers

1 charger + cable + 4 plugs

1 assembly tool

1 USB cable

1 smartphone and tablet support

1 quick start guide

  • I’d buy a dji phantom 3 standard, much better drone.

    • To get extra battery and goggles you'll end up paying a lot more though won't you?

      • Goggles are technically illegal, unless you are in a flying club etc.

DJI are the market leader and don’t compare to anything else. You should be able to get a phantom 3 standard for about $600. Both are old technology but phantom 3 is still a lot of fun.
I bought one about a year ago and an extra battery in an ebay sale for about $650.
Parrot is a brand that keeps launching drone that no one buys.

        • I just read you are looking at the spark too, difference is spark can be carried in a bag and has smart features, phantom 3 standard has a better camera and longer flight time.

        • @Mikerobertsn:

I still haven't seen one person explain why to choose DJI over parrot. I would get it if they were the same price. So I'd it the software or the ease of flight or what?

  • I have a DJI spark and even though the photo quality isn't the best, its amazing for travelling as I've recently taken it everywhere and the DJI Fly more combo during eBay sales would still be a better buy.

Just FYI using the cockpit goggles as FPV flying I'm pretty sure is illegal unless you have a buddy for a spotter.

Parrot 2 also uses inbuilt gimbal and not a physical one like the spark.

What are you using the drone for ??

    • I thought the goggles were ok as long as the drone is still within sight line (so ok to have goggles on, assuming that if you took them off you could see it)

I wanted a drone I could play around with but also take places to cruise around and check out the landscape. The tiny flight times annoy the hell out of me.

  • Spark every day ending in y

    • But why? Obstacle avoidance seems to be the only stand out difference. Have you used both?

      • Saw a lot of reviews on youtube, was about to pull the trigger onthe spark, then the air came out lol.

        • Im very tempted on selling my spark to get the air, its the perfection of not wanting the Mavic Pro and not wanting the spark.

      • I think OA is overrated, I've owned both the Pro and Air since release but have barely used it a couple of times.

OA or not, if you fly around/near obstacles you WILL crash.

  • No Gimbal = No good..
