"Australia's favourite beer will honour its commitment to shout the nation with a free can or stubby of VB for every eligible adult in the country.
It was meant to be a celebration for winning the Ashes, but the good people at CUB have rightly seen that we need it anyway. We promised to shout the nation at the start of the Ashes campaign, and even though the boys didn't win, that's still what we are going to do,'' VB group marketing manager Paul Donaldson said."

lol thats only true for idiots who do it in excess. I drink and smoke in moderation and rarely get drunk. have a few alcohol free days a week too. 1 bottle of bourbon will last me about 2-3 months and a pack of smokes takes me a month or more to finish.

      • +2

That is most redundant argument to justify smoking I have ever heard in my life and I am a smoker. Thats the quivalent of saying I only drink half a bottle of drano once every six months so everything in moderation is good for me.

ALCOHOL is more dangerous than illegal drugs like heroin and crack cocaine - when the ripple effect on society is taken into consideration, a new UK study has found.
British experts said alcohol was most destructive because it was so widely used and had devastating consequences not only for drinkers but for those around them.

or, for those with a subscription, the Lancet article
      http://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-67…

Overall, alcohol was the most harmful drug (overall harm score 72), with heroin (55) and crack cocaine (54) in second and third places.

not worth a neg though….free beer is free beer….
