Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 64GB/6GB RAM $488 Delivered (HK) @ eGlobal eBay

220
PLUGNPLAY

Cheapest deal so far, although this may be the Chinese edition. But from my research, the bands are exactly the same as the global and all you have to do is flash the global rom and it'll be the same phone. this is the global edition

After cashback, it will cost $483.12 and according to the description and eBay feedback, the shipping is really quick.

Although the warranty is pretty much non-existant so you should be wary of that, but it should be similar to Aliexpress and LITB. Also, another issue is that people have reported their products as being opened or with fingerprints on the device, but this is only because they check if the device is DOA.

It was previously $490.5 with 3 weeks shipping or $495.30 with express shipping

With all of these brilliant things that Xiaomi create the o ly thing missing are local distributors that provide local warranties. The franchise that gets that gig in this country is going to make a fortune.

But it won't be at this price as support costs money and OzBargainer won't buy from local.

      • Exactly, as local will sell @ double the price.

I am a happy owner of Mi Max 1. Runs good, 2 days battery life. I love and hate the big screen. I can use it as a tablet and bring it around. But I cannot bring it everywhere such as sports sessions.

        • Mi max 3 7" screen. Just do it.

        • This is mi mix

        • @wxyz234:

I am referring to xiaomi phones in general, especially the large screen ones.

      • +1

it’s not just local support but it would mean local needs eg au chargers and plugs , band 28, option for region to select AU, etc.

prices wouldn’t be vastly different as we see for grey samsung vs local stock and GST is the difference, imported phone no GST so 10% cheaper.

Also the dealer margin moves from a chinese seller to Australian sellers, so you'd have JB, TGG, Officeworks all doing deals.

Australia isn't part of Xiaomis market so don't hold your breath as they sell into India, EU and USA.

        • @phunkydude: Official, or reseller?

        • @flaminglemon:

          Official

Looks… legit? Still skeptical but hopeful. If that's a success they might open more in other cities. I don't know if their phones will cost the same or more if buying it in store. But I suppose you get local warranty and somewhere to return it to if something fails.

    • gearbite …

      roboguy … ohh wait'

      • Is gearbite no reputable anymore?

        • gearbite still good !

Wow, only 1 sold so far. Wow (Owen Wilson's Wow).

    • Perhaps people are just wary of the seller.

      • we are getting a lot of deals now for phones designed to also include Australian Market for a similar price point, and lots of people don't chase the 830 vs 835 stuff, just buy phones, put in sims and use, get a case from local mall.

Very few of my friends would import a phone and what in Australia is an unknown brand if you approached people in the street and asked about Xiaomi, provide they aren't chinese, in china they are well known and they call the owner "China's Steve Jobs" not sure why as one innovated and the other imitates technology.

thats weird why are they selling it with a micro sd card? I've got one of these deveices and it has no such storage options

    • Does it fit into one of the sim slots?

      • The phone does not have expandable storage.

        • the spec on the linked page says micro SD.

4G includes 700mhs BUT doesn't say if it's USA or our band 28 …. same frequency but different protocol / encoding.

        • +1

          @garage sale:

700mHz can be B28 ( Australia and other countries ), but also can be B13 and B17 in various non Australian regions. The Joybuy listing has no B28/B13/B17 so someone has them mixed up.

        • +1

@ozhunter68: yep, it's in the fine print 700mhz could be for US or band 28 for AU, EU, and TW, not enough detail.

        • @garage sale:

The phone has no expandable storage

          http://www.trustedreviews.com/reviews/xiaomi-mi-mix-2

The base model of the Mi Mix 2 has 64GB of storage, but 128GB and 256GB editions are also available. Choosing the right storage amount is important – sadly, the Mi Mix 2 doesn’t support microSD cards, which is unusual for a Chinese device.

    Its cheaper at Joybuy $474.41
    6/64GB with global ROM

LITB is better option with expedited shipping

    • Why is it better? LITB deal is expired and its out of stock (emailed rep), this deal is cheaper by $12 after cashback and both have expedited shipping

  • I've been thinking about getting the global variant of this so I could use it in the UK with no issues. Does the global one include australia's band 28?

    • +1

I emailed the seller and he said this device is the global edition. From the reviews I've read, this phone apparently has one of the most amount of bands. According to this, it works will all UK and AUS bands :)

      • missed it! DOH! Thanks though - good to know
