2 Free Coffees for Citibank Credit Cardholders via Hey You

1730

Citibank card holder promotion

Get 2 free coffees when you add your Citibank card as your primary Payment Source on Hey You. ONLY works with Citibank Credit Card (thanks @SydneySwan)

How it works:

  1. Download or open the Hey You app
  2. Go to Menu > Payment > Add your Citi credit card as your primary Payment Source > Save
  3. Receive a notification via the app or an SMS which will confirm your account has been credited with two free coffees.
If you didn't receive a notification, try adding a coffee to a new order and go to the confirmation screen to check if its free. Don't proceed with the order, cancel and come back next time.
  4. Enjoy your two free coffees!

Please note that if you already have your Citi credit card added to the Hey You app, to receive this offer, you will need to delete your card and add your details again.

      What is that

      • +3

        I stopped using the app..

        Got email saying:

We couldn't help but notice that you haven’t been ordering with the Hey You app for a while. That’s a shame. We would really like to help you save time for what matters to you.

To help you get back into the swing of ordering ahead we are offering you $10 free credit to use at any Hey You venue.

All you need to do is make an order this week (by 3pm Friday 20th April 2018) and we will deposit $10 credit into your account by 9am Saturday 21st April.

I just got the link to a dumb survey.

"We haven't seen you on the app in a while. Hopefully it's because you're away on a tropical vacation, in the case that it isn't, was it due to any of the reasons below?

There are no Hey You venues near me

I'm travelling but will order with Hey You again soon
          I'm not drinking coffee anymore
I'm using another app to order
I find the Hey You app difficult to use
          I don't like fees"

I have got into the habit of using Skip due to all of their promos. This mob aren't as generous on that front so I don't bother with them.

does this work with citibank plus debit credit card?

    • I don't think so, give it a go and report back? On the order confirmation screen, you should see if the coffee is free or not.

    • It's a debit card, not a "debit credit card", so probably not..

  • +11

Lol not this mob again, brings back memories…

Will they cancel on us in the last second? ;)

    • lol

Lol this company will never make money, no one can be bothered buying their coffees through an app

    • Savage.

    • Beats waiting for 10 minutes every morning…

    • +3

Where I work, a company of 1000+ people, pretty much everyone who drinks coffee uses this app. It's not a great app, but it beats waiting in line etc.

I save about $1k a year making them at home. With the right setup and technique you can make a better coffee than most cafes anyway.

      • @JIMB0 Thanks for your irrelevancies.

        • -3

And thanks for yours regarding whether the app will make money or not.

    • +1

I actually use the app a lot to order coffees when I am approx 5mins away. I also recently used it to order lunch to avoid the queues so can appreciate the service.

Keen to know if it works with the Citibank debit card as well

  • 24/04/2018 *Beat the Q Waterloo AU -AUD 0.01

    they charged me $0.01?

    • Pretty sure its just for card confirmation. It should get reversed within 24 hours.

    • +10

How dare they charge you 1 cent.

  • Thanks OP - that's my coffee sorted for rest of week

Is it just me or the Hey You app notifications really suck.

My local coffee place uses it and I get a notification going "Your order has been accepted and will be ready to pickup ……." and when I press the notification it just vanishes. Complete bullshit and terrible design.

    • Mine just says "[Cafe] has accepted your order."

      No indication of time whatsoever.

      • Likewise, I just get accepted and ready for pickup notifications. I imagine the notifications don't lead to anything as they're not stored in the app, they are just transient.

    • Same with me. But figured out a way. Dont click on notification, there is a button to expand and read the notification. (Atleast on my android phone S8) And i can read the last part of notification.

I've added my Citibank credit card but no notification

    • Same here… Does it take time until verified?

      • +1

You may have notification turned off already for HeyYou. Try adding a coffee to your order and go to the confirmation screen to check if its free. Don't proceed with the order, cancel and come back next time.

    • still waiting for the free coffee notification…

      • I didn't get notification, but have 2 credits.

Put in an order for 3 coffees, check cart and see how many credits applied.

It seems I lost the amex credit, but the 2 citibank vouchers have been added.

  • +3

What about Citi bank debit card?

  • Thanks!

  • Will this override a free sign up coffee I've already got my account?

  • Doesnt let me add my citibank debit card(Mastercard)
"There was a problem with the card details[130101]"

  • +6

Citi debit card doesn't seem to work. I could add the card easily enough but no sms received and if I do a dummy coffee order it still wants to charge me.

    • Thanks for testing it out. I will update the post.

    • Thanks for confirming

Will this work with my Woolies rewards card?

    • +3

Yes but only if you have a costco membership

      • Finally someone with a sense of humour.

Does Citibank Plus savings account included?

  • Works with St George but in a different way. $10 credit off your first order

  • Worked for me and the wife on a subsidiary credit card. Used it this morning for a free coffee which I’m picking up right now.

  • -1

Any one knows it works with Citibank Visa Debit card or not? Thanks.

  • It lets you order large for free too.

  • I downloaded this app a while ago and every time i try to place an order, it asks me to validate my phone number. I click 'Validate' and it tells me not available at this time as the phone is in use. Anyone else had this issue?

  • +2

I just skimmed through their updated T&Cs and I don't know if this was there before, but if you top up manually, that credit actually expires after 180 days, so please keep that in mind as many people probably don't realise it.

    • Thanks - that's good to know.

  • +6

Tip: same Citibank card can be applied to different Hey You accounts to claim the free coffees. Just saying.

  • I got the text msg that I had 2 credits, but is there anywhere to see the credits that I have? I looked, but couldn't find it. Or do I have to do an order in the app before I can see them?

    • Just pick a coffee and you should see it free before you press order.
