I also got the email. Clicking your link took me to a 'flash sale price' of USD 151.99. Clicking the link in the email that I received took me to the 'email only price' of USD 129. Now that I've clicked through from the email link, subsequent clicks on your link also take me to the USD 129 pricing.

Bought one of these last time around. Super tablet for the $$$$. The accessories pack had a good case but it’s very bulky so I ditched it. The screen protector was plastic so I dumped it anyway and purchased a glass one.

Personally wouldn’t worry about the lack of accessories kit. Only good if you’re getting tablet for your kids.

Which is what I did… lol no point getting them some expensive tablet for them to trash it.

Also this tablet pisses all over those el cheapo tablets from Target/OW/HN etc

No Android update to 7 though so if you are looking for that this won't do.

Other than that its a great tablet.

      • What's the battery life like? I heard it's only 6 hours, compared with 10 hours for the much less-powerful TAB4 8 (i.e non-plus).

However, the TAB4 8 is also 4 (i.e. not 3) and has the next Android, 7. Would that improve battery life?

        • +1

Yeah not as good battery life. But suitable for the use.

I have installed Lux and will do a run down to see if the auto brightness gets fixed. i think the system auto brightness had it on too bright.

  • Great little tablet. Got three of these

Any good deals on same tablet with 4g?

    • Also waiting for a deal for this.

    • Light in the box had these for under $200 recently, gearbest have not got anywhere near that price before.

      • Nice one forgot to check Geekbuying. I usually check BG or gb

        • Keep in mind no 850mHz 3G band for Telstra/Vodafone on that one.

        • @ozhunter68:

Also android 6, trying to find if nougat can go on this. Doesn't look good.

          I might pass on this

        • @bti_jet:

Got the wifi model last year from other deal. Good tablet for the price, Android 6 does the job, still getting security and system updates.

  • Bought one from a previous sale and it's a great unit.
I've noticed when apps are downloaded from Google Play store, mine can take ages to actually install them.

    • Mine did that with one particular app. Really weird.

  • What type of microsd should I be looking for to go with this? Would I need a certain speed or any class 10 would be fine?

Also how would this compare in regards to battery and operation compared to a samsung tab a 8?

  • Grabbed one to replace 4yr old Asus Memopad - was a bit sus on the Lenovo's battery life but it's a lot of tablet for the money and you really have to pay double to get anything superior (IMHO).

Now to find a case and glass screen protector.

Thanks OP….not the best price ever but still a good price.

  • just ordered one to replace my nexus 2013. hopefully its a good replacement. anyone can recommend a good case for this. i can only find a handful in ebay. need to protect it from kids. Thanks

I can't seem to make this work without adding significant shipping charges. Any ideas?

    • Screen shot of the buy screen?

Make it come from China and select Australia and currency as USD

  • I was having this issue as well…. They have recently changed their website design and it is messing with the shipping.. I ended up clearing cookies and buying it on a different browser (Safari) and it finally came up with the right shipping amount… Give that a try and see how you go

  • Thanks for chiming in, @jlogic & @zinga77.

However, I've tried changing warehouses and currencies and also clearing cookies and 2 browsers but have still come up with the same result. :(

    screencap of my buy screen

Crossing my fingers someone has an idea what's going on.

    • Maybe try speaking to support. I spoke to them last night and they advised there was an issue with the website that they are trying to fix. I kept trying to the website and finally got it to work so maybe keep trying. Good luck.

      • May I ask how you got in contact with them? I've only ever gotten a response via FB messenger and it sounds like its more of an automated response.

        • Under support centre you will see presale live chat… click on the "Connect with live chat now" option

        • @zinga77:
No kidding? I've been clicking that since last night with nothing happening. I thought it was broken. I'll try again. Thanks.

        • @tebbybabes: It worked for me the other day… otherwise just download the app and try chat on that.. I used the app chat this morning so that worked

        • @zinga77:
Ahh, didn't think about the mobile app. Yep, I'll give that a go, ASAP. Thanks again for all the input.

    • Try incognito mode.

  • It looks like I'm out of luck with the shipping. After much back and forth with replies ranging from

"there's no free shipping available for that item"
"free shipping is only offered in certain countries"
"there may be some issues related from our website updating."

Looks like I'll have to suck it up and pay for shipping if I want the item at this price. At least it just starts at US$8. The tablet is also available at a different price point that has free shipping options but this still comes out ahead, I think.

    • PM me if you want my order number so they can see that shipping was for free. I actually paid the 90 cents to have the priority Australian line option

  • Received my device today. Just 8 days from ordering. Very very pleasant surprise.

Have only played with it for 5 minutes but quite happy so far. Works very well and feels heaps snappier than my Nexus 7 2013.

The scrolling issue mentioned by a few seems to be quite acceptable. It's not butter smooth, but totally usable and a lot better than what I was expecting based on what was reported on forums.

If I find anything notable, good or bad, after a bit more use, I'll come back and update.

I just realised, there WAS one thing that was strange…. The box's seal was broken already. Everything seems to be pristine though.
