  I had the early version of Xiaomi MIjia cam and at one point it stopped working. I thought it was out of order but found out later that Xiaomi have stopped supporting devices outside of China. No more cam from Xiaomi for me.

    The price is nearly the same before discount but this code doesn’t work on dafang so almost $35 for dafang.

  I received one of these cameras last week from this deal

  Works well, have had in running 24 hours a day since I got it, good picture.

  The only complaints would be that it's a shame it doesn't have a magnetic base like some of the other cameras

  And I feel it goes to night vision too soon, but this doesn't effect the clarity of the picture, it's just in black & white instead a colour.

    Thanks for the post mate, very informative!
    Just a thought, have you tried a night vision bulb? I use one because my cameras don’t have it and it makes the picture so much clearer..
    Anyway cheers for the info!

      I haven't tried an night vision bulb, the night vision on all the xiaomi bulbs work very well.

      With this one there has still been plenty of light in the room and it switched to night vision, sooner than other xiaomi cameras.

  does the motion detection store the video clips onto the SD card?
  or is like the xiaofang whereby you have set it to record 24/7 onto the sd card?

  does this require motion detection video clips to be stored in china based cloud?

    Yeah, video is stored on a SD Card. I have mine set up for loop recording.

    According to the app you can set up a motion detection alarm/motion activated recording and NAS Network storage.

    xiaofangs record on motion activity; doesnt have to be loop recording.

  I get 'camera connection timeout' error at 90% when trying to connect it to my network. Other xiaomi cameras connected fine.

    That's probably a wi-fi issue, that only happens for me when my wi-fi is playing up.

  Will this work in Australia? The new Xiaofang cameras won't work outside of China, so this may not work either.
