Thanks for pointing out what the first sentence said. Very astute. That post was also expired 30 mins ago. Not sure how it's not now.

      • Amazon changes the shipping charge from US$9.18 to US$12.88. I select ParcelPoint, then the shipping charge go down to US$8.18.

Makes sense. Well this is still a good bargain for when Amazon run out/expire again.

It's made to be hung from a backpack or something. That's why they give you 4 carabiners and it has holes in it. If you want a freestanding one get that. You can't hike around with a freestanding unit though as it has to be sitting on something.

if you want it to charge your phone properly it needs to have the sun directly.

Yep. That's how solar works. No different to every other solar product out there.

out doesn't come with any support stands to prop up the panel.

It was never designed to. If you need stands buy one with them and not this.

if you are going to use it on your backpack, the usb cable will wriggle and you won't be able to get sustained charging.

As an owner I can attest that that's absolutely not true.

epic blitzwolf fail…. just like their rubbish usb cables.

Their cables are literally the best I've ever owned.

Half your comment is an opinion and the rest is conjecture. What was the point?

aukey make the exact same spec solar panel with pop up stands. big big difference in charging amps.

        • -1

I'm going to assume you're talking the AUKEY PB-P25. In which case let's get started.

          exact same spec

Wrong. AUKEY have 21W while Blitzwolf do 20W.

They state their USB ports output 2.4A each if both are in use or 3.1A on a single. This is impossible at 21W as 2.4A @ 5V requires 12W. This would bring the total output to 24W which is above the rated output. So either they've broken physics, have a higher total output capacity at 24W or the 2.4A rated is wrong and is actually more like 2A.

          with pop up stands

Where are the stands? Not a single mention of stands on their website and not a single image of the product has stands. Is this also just conjecture?

big big difference in charging amps.

Again, unless they've broken physics or their charger is rated at a higher output than stated then no, there isn't a big difference.

The one you're talking about also has hanging holes and included carabiners for backpack attachment but you didn't whinge about them coming loose and wiggling while you hike. It honestly sounds like you just have a problem with Blitzwolf and are trying to shit on them.

        • @potplanty: lol downvote me because I called you out on your bullshit. Go home child. Clearly reasonable discussion is beyond you.

To be honest I think a Xiaomi battery would weigh the same and charge one hell of a lot quicker, for less.

Sometimes a good idea really isn’t.

    • +10

Then you have missed the point of these. They're intended for use out camping. I personally use one to charge my power banks back at camp when I'm out climbing a mountain with my other power bank.

      • -5

So you have a phone, at least two power banks and this solar charger. Awesome!

        • +6

          I'm sorry I upset you.

        • @Clear: Don't insult his intelligermence.

    • Well that depends on the battery. If it's only doing 5V/3A then these are identical in terms of performance. You also can't use that battery again once it's depleted. You can use this one until the sun's depleted. Sure, it doesn't do QC 3.0 or PD but it's still a good 15W.

    • Depends how long you are away from power for. My personal recommendation is to charge a battery and then use that to charge your devices.

      • +4

Yeah but if you go camping for a week that battery is gonna be useless after a few days. With this you can charge the battery during the day for use at night.

Really ? I have never needed one. That seems a little… hyperbolic ?
