  • Great deal there

  • Haven't follow the update for ipad for sometime. Any specific advantage of the latest gen compare to last year or even earlier ones? I am still on the first gen air mainly used by my kids

    • Faster CPU, and support Apple Pencil
Everything else are pretty the same as 2017 version

    • +1

Basically everything the same but now includes a digitizer in the screen, supports 'apple pencil' for detailed drawing/drafting.. aaaaaaaand infinitely faster CPU (speed).. that's about it. I suspect the "supports Apple pencil" will only be of use to some, it is an expensive little device in itself, but the speed increase makes it on par (if not functionally the same) with a decent laptop, so good value. Certainly the title of "best quality tablet for the buck" is hard to dispute.

Apple claim the A10 is 40% faster. Not as big of a jump as from A8 to A9 (70%) but still a big difference. Will be snappier for longer. I’d value the difference at $150, might be better to get the new one.

      • The apple pencil isn't getting glowing reviews so they'll have some work to do. Which is rote for new Apple devices. Logitech just released a 'crayon' for the new iPad that retails for half the price of the iPencil.

  • Have a Ipad air 2 64gb, is it a good idea to upgrade to this one?

    • +1

No, not unless you must have Pencil support.

The Air 2 is better in some ways.

      • My concern is whether the air 2 will get slow in the near future

        • Nope, plus iPads will probably get even cheaper

It is almost a current model.

        • +1

If it's still working fine, keep it for now.

But yes, it will start feeling slow soon enough. It's a few years old now. PLus battery will need replacing also, which will cost you some decent change.

Wait till it's not useable first. There will always be new deals. No need to buy today.

    • I have air 1 and it’s freakin slow now. Time to upgrade !

$440 delivered from CATCH. So a $20 saving to be had here if you want one really bad.

    • Don't you have to pay for shipping too on catch??

      • Delivered. So free delivery.

        • It was an international model so no local warranty.

    • Guess my link is now $20 dearer for those who still want it.

  • Don't forget to purchase eBay gift cards from Woolworths using your discounted e-gift cards. Ends up being $401. Did it the other day with my birthday 10% voucher

  • Alternative if you have Entertainment Book sub: Get David Jones GC at 10% off = $405 for $450 worth of vouchers.
David Jones will price match BigW's $459.
So all up it costed me $405 (GC) + $9 cash = $414 - pickup.

    Edit: typo

  • It says $467 though.

  • "This seller is currently away, and isn't processing orders at this time. You can add this item to your watch list to purchase later."

"The seller's store is closed for holiday. Check back later."

    "
The item you've selected wasn't added to your cart.

The seller of this item is on holiday. If you wish to purchase this item, please contact the seller and ask to be notified when they return."

    Anyone else getting this?

    • Officeworks always does this to not participate in sitewide eBay discount codes.

They were just a little slow this morning.

      • So the deal is expired then?

    • Yes I see this warning at the top of the screen , and when adding the item to my cart.

  • fml

  • "the seller's store is closed for holiday" lol

  • Here’s the text and reasons they give from their ebay page.

“Thank you for visiting the Officeworks eBay store.
Our products are temporarily unavailable while eBay has a site wide event.
Because Officeworks is determined to ensure that we offer our customers, like you, low prices every day no matter how and where you choose to shop with us, it is important that all of our customers are getting the same low price in our stores, on our website, with our app, or on our eBay store.
Thus our products will be available shortly after the site wide event has finished.”

    • +1

      Sounds like communism lol

    • Can you suggest that instead of closing down their ebay shop when there's a sitewide sale, close their own online shop instead? Have them link to ebay. Get all their customers to buy from ebay where everyone can enjoy a 10% discount.

  • Wait so this is an error from their side? I bought the 128GB today for 540 (10% discount) and picked them up today from the cbd. Lucky I pulled the trigger. Hope they will honour the one who already bought

    • Technically they should honour it because we are still paying full price as advertised. The discount was provided by eBay. So Officeworks are receiving full monetory in the sales.

    • Just got confirmed email saying my iPad on its way to my nominated OW for pickup.

Got mine delivered today. Looks like I was one of the lucky few.
