      • Thanks champ xo

  • Don't forget, these are using the old 14nm dies. You can expect Threadrippers with the new 12nm dies to come out in the near term - so higher clocks and better memory compatibility.

For what will be about a 10-15% jump in performance, and a much higher price.

Meh, this is a great deal for someone who actually needs a 32-thread CPU.

      • We don't know what the new processors will cost, or indeed what the new MBs to go with them will offer. After all, this is effectively 2xRyzen 1800X stuck together. With the 2700X at US$330 they have space to cut prices if they want. Or indeed they could add cores by adding new real dies.

Also worth realising this cut in price reflects AMD cutting prices in advance of the new chips, and they could go down further.

I'm not saying the price isn't more palatable than it was - just giving a bit of context.

        • It's extremely unlikely the price will be below US$800 any time soon, which makes this a value buy.

    ZTE cannot use this.
    As it has 7-year suspension.

    Will it run crysis?

  • Great price - was planning on grabbing the 2700x, but may have been swayed to this if I'd been a bit quicker!
