          Worked for me -

          On Paypal, Select a bank account or debit card as default payment

          Ebay - Select Paypal payment option > enter PAYBACK code
          once applied, change the payment option from your bank account/debit to your preferred CC

          BOOOM!

      I could only get it to work on $150 yellow cards. Other colour $200 wouldn’t apply and $200 yellow was sold out.

    Do we basically lose buyer protection when paying with eBay gift cards, ie. if there's an issue with a transaction that requires a refund you get nothing back?

      I have called EBay and asked about this earlier. You still get Paypal protection as you are basically funding Paypal purchase using gift cards(That's how Ebay gift cards work)

    Does this mean that I can:

    Buy $1000 of gift cards for $900; 10% x1
    Then buy $1000 of gift cards for $900; 10% second time; paying with $900 of gift cards
    Resulting in .. $1100 of gift card credit for $900 outlay.

    Then … wait a few months until the next ebay 10% off sale;
    at which point I can buy a $1210 item for ..all up $900 ?

        yes, I just used $50 initial gift card to buy another $100, total cost $85 for $100, could have made more round to increase the saving, the issue is wether giftcard can arrive fast enough before eBay fix this loophole

        Some have not received them yet but I have got mine. Btw T&C use of the code is excluded from purchase of gift cards I guess eBay has its ground not to honour the purchase.

    Anyway, this is useful for me as I have $500 of bulky items to buy in a few months time - so I can't buy them now as I don't have the space.
    So, I can buy the vouchers for the bulky items, so that I can "lock-in" my 10% savings for when I get around to buying the items.
