    Do you really need defrag?
Most modern PC's have SSD and you don't really need to run defrag anymore.
Even if you need it, just get free alternates.

Yeah, given that these all seem to be for Windows and Windows includes defrag, why would you pay for it at all?

Works out to roughly $5.50 per license. Good to claim for tax & offers a few features that Defraggler doesn't.

I hope you aren't defragging SSDs. The process screws up SSDs by reducing its life significantly through the I/O operations.

        • @bchliu: That's been debunked many times. SSDs have such a long life, that they should still last for many years of use (and much longer than a hard drive), even with defragging. It's pretty much pointless to defrag a SSD, which is more than enough reason not do do it, but it is also harmless.

O&O Defrag has a SSD optimizer, which claims to be able to speed up SSDs, without doing a full defrag.

  • The name of the program sounds like I should put the pin back into my frag…

    • The old version used to be great, you could disable verification and at least double the speed of defrag on old PCs!

      • And possibly cause data corruption in the process.

        • Didn't matter if you kept an eye on your hard drive health!

Useless product as Windows already has this feature built-in.

  • Since XP, Windows has included its own defrag software and since Vista it automatically does a defrag in the background once a week. However, in some cases, software such as O&O Defrag, will increase hard disk performance, more than the standard Windows defrag does. So, software like this, is not useless. But, Windows defrag works well enough for most people.

  • don't waste money on this except you are still using XP.
