Dammit! I wish this was around yesterday when i was buying that hairdryer.

    • +5

      bad hair day?

      • +2

I've been pulling out my hair since finding I could've combined the two offers

    • This came two days late for me too. Damn

      • +1

it's a shame you're only allowed to shop at Amazon the one time eh.

    • that's $2.40 gone !!!!

      • +2

Not gone…. 'in the hands of Amazon shareholders'

        • +1

OR being blown by Bezos on sending up rockets to show who has a bigger …. Him or Musk?

  • +2

Does amazon AU sell amazon gift cards??

    • Amazon AU ones at least, but either way its the purchase of an actual item or product that counts as a purchase.

      • Wait I called them to ask if they were selling AU giftcard and their customer service says they don't. Can you link me to the Amazon Au giftcards?

  • +15

Cashrewards refused to honour the bonus cashback when I booked a holiday last November. I sent them proof and they eventually stopped responding after they told me they were investigating with the "highest priority".

    • +41

i think "highest priority" basically means its waiting on divine intervention

    • +3

Likewise. All mine were declined for Booking.com, no reason for it.

      • +3

Hi RocketSwitch. Almost certainly one of these reasons…

Use of any Booking.com refer-a-friend links, or any coupons and/or incentive offers/links (including Amex/Mastercard/Visa discounts) will invalidate any cashback and/or any cashback claims, including our cashback guarantee, unless specifically listed on this site.

        • +1

I figured that was why some of my cash backs for Booking.com didn’t come through, the others did though.

      • +4

I’ve received all my cashbacks for booking.com but I didn’t use any additional discount codes.

    • Mine booking with Hotel.com last year went through fine (got the cashback early this year). Maybe things have changed recently?

    • +1

happened to me many times… specially with Banggood, DWI Digital Cameras and Alibaba.

      • Yeah i find the chinese sites unreliable at best. But I find aliexpress is usual similar if I use the app to get discounts.

  • +11

So apparel & shoes have the highest profit?

    • Yeah I wonder if this is a good indication of where more profits lie for Amazon and where you can expect a better deal generally as the margin is much lower.

    • +5

Yes, and what better single category to make 10% so they could say "up to 10% cashback".

    • +2

Amazon US has an enormous selection of Amazon owned apparel brands.

      http://www.businessinsider.com/amazon-private-label-brands-l…

This basically came out of nowhere. They just started launching clothing like 2 years ago, and now they sell a ton of it. My guess is that they plan on bringing that selection to AU pretty fast.

There data mining operation is just such an enormous advantage. They can predict consumer demand on almost anything. "Oh, women's crop pant searches are up 20%. Based on search volume, let's crank out 10000 pairs, in the exact right amounts for sizes based on customer profile data." I mean, pretty soon, they'll just start sending stuff to your home that you just thought about (well, I mean Alexa is always listening..)

  • +3

Create new account use " AMAZON20" for $20 off, plus cash rewards.

Can also use these extra addons for more benefits down the track.

Install the chrome & firefox add on called "HONEY" to your browser ( will automaticly find you a promo code for your website )
Also install Cashrewards addon for Chrome or firefox so you never forget a cash reward again.

    • +5

The use of coupon codes not listed on this site may void eligibility for Cashback.

    • +4

Use the promo code AMAZON20 at check-out and get $20 off your first purchase of $79 or more.

A fairly important detail ya missed there mate! :)

  • +1

    dang, my dryer yesterday

  • Thanks TA!

On another note, can we get a deal on contact lenses? My stock is running low. Thanks in advance.

  • -2

    Thanks TA :).

    We love you tightarse =D!

  • +2

Excellent work TA, now see if you can bump the video games cashback from 2.5% up to 5% ;)

  • +8

Thanks TA. This is excellent news. No matter the rates, something is better than nothing.
I'm sure it took a lot of hard work to get this going, so thanks to you and Andrew and all at CR for doing this for the community.

  • +2

    better than ebays 1%

  • Nooo. My really expensive steamer iron yesterday T.T

  • Been waiting for this :)

  • Whaaaa

  • Do books include Kindle books?

    • Ebooks are listed separately at 1%

  • Thanks TA, you are a legend!

  • Nice one TA!

  • Should wait until this to take the advantage of amazon20
    Damn

    • +4

The use of coupon codes not listed on this site may void eligibility for Cashback.

  • +2

Imagine how good this would be if there was actually anything I need of decent value on Amazon. Everything I want buy seems to be not available in the AU store or a ripoff.

    Hmph.

  • +8

By continuing to Amazon Australia, you understand that in the unlikely event your transaction does not track or is subsequently declined, we will unfortunately be unable to process your rewards enquiry.

Surprised this has so many upvotes. Cashrewards tracking is spotty at the best of times, and now you can't even claim cashback through their customer service. Getting the cashback is going to be a real lucky dip

    • +2

What changed? Why can't we claim the cashback via customer service?

    • +1

Hi railspider & ensanguined. Nothing to do with Cashrewards. That's an Amazon requirement and is the same for eBay. All cashback sites have this in their terms. We either have Amazon & eBay on site with this note, or don't have them at all. And as far as Cashrewards tracking being spotty, our affiliate partners/networks track your sales then report these to us. If you have a tracking issue with CR, you'll have the same issue with other cashback sites as well. Last click is key.

Also please note that a lot of networks now won't report/track a sale to the member when/if an unlisted coupon is used. Here's more reasons for untracked sales (from some of our hotel pages). Merchants don't generally pay commission twice (via coupon & us) unless they advertise such…

Use of any coupons and/or incentive offers/links (including Amex/Mastercard/Visa discounts) will invalidate any cashback and/or any cashback claims, including our cashback guarantee, unless specifically listed on this site.

      • hi tightarse!
what happens if my email add with CR is different from the email add I use with my Amazon account? will the transaction still be tracked by CR?

        • Hi IIzzz. Totally separate. You'll be fine :)

    • +6

      unlikely event

It's worked for less than probably 20% of the times I've tried it, and most of the successful attempts were for low-value transactions. It's not even worth using, in my experience.

      • +1

I've had one problem, which was fixed, and have made $170 from using Cashrewards. Its worth using, in my experience.

    • +4

Cashrewards tracking is spotty at the best of times

That is not my experience. I have only had tracking fail when the merchant (not Cashrewards) had issues, and in each of those cases Cashrewards notified me about the period during which the merchant had issues and offered to take care of tracking if I provided evidence of purchase (which is about as much as you can expect).

I have earned back $659.55 across 150 transactions during a 3 year 10 month period. I have had less than a handful rejected because I had used a promotional coupon.

I am not aware of a single transaction where Cashrewards failed on me.

  • +1

    Regarding this:
"Items added to your shopping cart before clicking from Cashrewards will not earn Cashback."
Is this also true for eBay??
    Also
what does "last click" actually mean - the last click before cashrewards takes you to the vendor website - or last click before hitting the purchase button on the website….. I am confused as I have stopped getting eBay cashback.

    • +3

No, only Amazon. For eBay, it's actually the preferred method. Add all items to cart, come back to CR eBay page, click Shop Now (so we get that all important tracking cookie), and buy.

what does "last click" actually mean

Last click before the vendor/merchant page. So for eBay click here, then Shop Now and don't leave eBay until your purchase is complete. This includes not clicking out of any other open tabs. And ensure AdBlock/uBlock is off.

  • Dang! I just put in an Amazon AU order yesterday for over $200…. I still would've missed this deal given I completed it yesterday.

OzBargain is like a drug which needs to be taken every 5mins. Never used to suffer from FOMO but now I have to see how best to time purchases etc.

    • Simples: if you're going to buy something online, do a quick search of ozb before pulling the trigger. Same with cashrewards, check first if there's any benefit.

  • +2

Amazon US used to be on CR, do you know why it disappeared? Thanks.

  • Does this apply to items sold by all sellers on Amazon Australia, or only items sold by the seller 'Amazon Au'?

  • +1

is there anything good on amazon au? always only managed to find the stuff i want on amazon US

    • +1

worse still I usually find the Amazon US prices are better even with shipping and of course other web stores are usually even better. Case in point one of the few times I have used Amazon in recent years. Item on AU Amazon $258, US Amazon $89 US + shipping. AU amazon is a bad joke.

    • Me too. I can't believe I have never purchased from Amazon AU yet I still get stuff on Amazon US. Aliexpress is #1 for me these days.

TA was walking through the street mall. Office workers hurrying up, phone zombies holding the traffic at snail pace, kids feeling like fish in the water with all the havoc around, a basker singing the same song he did yesterday on a different corner, someone smoking right in the middle of the crowd imagining himself to be somewhere else doing something else.

“Would not believe it”, thought TA, “but shopping used to be fun”. Remember that Crisco Oil deal and the first comment? I did not know whether it was serious or a joke so I did not respond anything. Deal on a toilet paper, lol, smiled TA, combo deals are the best. Oh well, and when did I move over here? A year or is it already two? It felt like ages, thought TA. It is indeed, thought author. 14 votes, that was the first top, Crisco! And then IGA ice cream with 31? Reaching the Everest! That was the life. Spending hours in a chase, rushing to post first. Sharing them away to the people who will appreciate, not asking much in return. And giving it away for free. For free! Hours of work. To the people that I have never met. And now, when I am actually getting paid for it, dealing with the biggest shops in the world, getting them to make coupons with TA in the name and what?

A young boy ran up to TA very excited, may be the only person there to be excited to see so many people around, and suddenly asked:
    “Hi! What’s your name?”
“TA”, TA responded instinctively slowly coming back to reality
“TA?”, said boy, “what does it mean, TA ?”
“Uhm, Tight … Armpits”, said TA whatever first came up to mind and after a quick shrug started walking away with a grin making every effort to look expected somewhere else.

Tight Armpits, that must get an award for the name of the year. Haha. Better than the original though. Yes, definitely better in this case, thought TA. And stuff this “up to 10%” bullocks, it is average 3.8% discount on Amazon for scotty’s sake, thought TA while quickly disappearing into the river of shoppers wearing black t-shirt with big TA letters on the back. 3.863636364% if we are to be mathnerd about it.

    • Did one of those office workers get out of his investment BMW which he had parked next to a bunch of bikies that were trying to settle down a woman who refused to pull over for her maccas?

  • How fast does the tracking occur? I’ve followed instructions and so far 2 of my purchases have not tracked at all

    • +2

      read the OP.

    • Rewards may take up to 21 days from the date of shipping to appear in your Cashrewards account.

  • better than ebay

  • thanks bought an oral machine

    • ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

  • -1

Hey tightarse. How much commission does CR typically receive? What’s your profit margin typically?

  • Yeah but then you need to buy from Amazon Australia, to make up the difference you need 35% off.

  • For some reason none of the transactions I've done since they started this have shown up on my Cashrewards account as even pending.

    • Rewards may take up to 21 days from the date of shipping to appear in your Cashrewards account.

  • Any plans on Amazon US returning to CR?

  • Just curious why this is marked as expired? Has CR and Amazon AU stopped?

    • Just noticed Cashrewards have update their site overnight and reduced Amazon cash back from up to 10% to 3% flat. I hope they honour their previous offerings.
