  • Banggood answered my call. Thanks bg!

Thanks OP for the post. I personally use this and it's an awesome charger!

  • wonder why the EU version is more expensive than this.

    • Worry not, it goes to $10.99 at least once a month. Grabbed the black version last month.

  • Sale on the BW-S7 please

  • +1

does this support huawei super charging?

    • +2

Only if you put the phone's underwear on the outside.

    • No huawei is 5v 4.5a, I have tried on my mate 10 pro and its not super charging.

    • Get the Type-C charger. It works with Huawei FCP

      https://www.banggood.com/BlitzWolf-BW-S10-30W-USB-Type-C-PD-…

      • The BW-S6 does support Fcp. I have one and am currently fast charging my P9 via the orange port. (it shows the fast charging icon and says fast charging on the lock screen).

No idea if super charging is a different technology

        • Huawei Supercharge is different tech. Need a charger capable of 5V/4.5A. FCP is just QC rebranded.

    • You need to look for PD (power delivery) chargers. As mentioned Huawei utilises high amps (4.5a) instead of high voltage (9v) which QC spec uses.

About $1.40 more expensive but can get it from Rauhimoop on Amazon if you want it much quicker :)

    • +1

Doesn't actually say Fulfilled by Amazon so it might still be China stock.

      • Considered AmazonAu too but this was what I was worried about too.

      • +1

I know, but reviews say delivery is extremely quick. Like 1-2 day delivery for some people.

        • Hmmm I reckon it's coming from Banggood's AU warehouse. BG owns BlitzWolf afterall…

  • Good charger bought for $17 a while back. Still going strong!!!!

  • Serious question— will this fast charge my iPhone X?

    • -5

      yes

      • Serious question (2)— will this fast charge my galaxy s7?

        • Yes, use the QC 3 (QC 2 compatible) port.

        • thanks

You'll need USB-C to Lightning Cable to fastcharge iPhone X

    • +1

No, not if you use the official definition of Apple's fast charge for iPhone X/8/iPad Pro. For fast charge (aka USB-PD) to work on iPhone X/8, you need the official USB-C to lightning cable plus a compatible USB-C PD charger. You CANNOT use any converter between the cable and the USB-C PD charger as a USB-A/B plug (even if it is USB 3.0) lacks the PD pins - so using a converter essentially disables the PD so charging will fallback to standard USB charging - it will still do 5V up to 2A (maybe even higher), but it won't do PD fast charging).

However, you don't benefit that much from iPhone 8/X fast charging through USB-PD (power delivery). You get substantial benefit for iPad Pro charging using USB-PD.

      • I don't get this

My friends iPhone X fast charger says 1.5a output on it.
So why can't an iphone cable that can handle 1.5a just work with the blitzwolf?

        • +1

The "fast charger" a lot of companies are selling do not actually support the official definition of Apple Fast Charge (USB-PD). If they are USB-A port based, those chargers cannot possibly support USB-PD.

The simplest way to explain it is that Apple iPhone 8/X also supports a somewhat QC 1.0 equivalent of "faster than [email protected] charging" as it will draw > 1A @ 5V (in fact iPhones 7/6/5 support that as well). However, nowadays, fast charge means QC 2.0 or better. Apple and Google's equivalent is USB-PD (which is the official USB IF standard). If you want the absolute fastest charging speed, you need the official cable (because the lightning side must also support USB-PD, which so far Apple refuse to license the chip to a 3rd party) and a compatible USB-C PD charger. In reality, unless you also have another USB-PD device (i.e. iPad Pro or Macbook / Pro), the benefit for iPhone 8/X using USB-PD over 5V @ > 1A (up to 3A) is minimal.

This charger should charge iPhone like the standard Apple 10W/12W iPad USB-A port type charger (so it will still be reasonably fast), but you cannot expect the Apple definition of fast charge (i.e. 30 minutes from flat to 50% charged; you are probably looking at 40 minutes to charge up to 50%, which isn't that bad).

        • @netsurfer: hi netsurfer,

You seem knowledgeable in this area. Recently picked up a Pixel 2 XL and now after a 2m cable. Any suggestions for a suitable cable with the fast charge ability?

        • +2

@Suspect420: My suggestion is try to use the original cable and charger as much as possible. It is an expensive phone so it's not worth risking it. Even mixing cables / chargers between Google models isn't a very good idea. Apple had to recall one of their early batches of USB-C cables for Macbooks (2015).

If you can, get USB-IF certified USB-C to USB-C cables. Or, get ones which are Benson approved. The maximum power draw from a phone isn't very high so you most likely won't notice any issue with inferior cables initially (other than the phone might not like them and opt for slower charging voltage). It's not easy to tell unless you have a USB-C power meter (currently too expensive so it is not worthwhile) or a power meter for the power socket (which allows you to work out roughly the voltage and the current).

In most case, I found it is the USB-C PD charger that makes more difference in terms of the charging time and whether fast charge kicks in earlier or later. However, I did find that Google and Apple cables consistently do USB-PD fast charge properly on the Google phone I have. The cheap 3rd party one I tried did fail to go into fast charge mode once, but unplugged it and plugged it in again resolved the issue (however, I was only able to tell because I was using a power meter to check/test). The cheap cable was a USB-IF certified one.

I am sorry I cannot recommend one because I haven't found one that's good enough so I am sticking with originals at the moment.

For laptops, however, definitely use quality USB-C cables. USB-C cable is a good idea in theory, but most cable makers cut corners. Even better quality ones can be geared towards power delivery side or data side. For example, Apple's cable is good for power delivery but lousy for data (USB 2.0 only). Quality high speed USB-C 3.0/3.1 cables can be quite average on the USB-PD side. It's a mess at the moment.

    • Serious question - will this fast charge my ZTE Axon 7 and do I also need a special cable as well?

      • The charger you got in the box with the ZTE Axon 7 is already a fast charger and supports Qualcomm’s QC 3.0 technology.

So, unless you want another spare charger for your office or something, you can buy from this deal, otherwise this charger is similar to fhe one you got from ZTE

      • You need this charger and a good cable (e.g. blitzwolf ampcore cables)

What would be nice is if BLitzwolf sold a "travel pack" with the various world adapters as part of the package. The plug head is modular and can be swapped out with another country.

    • Do they sell interchangeable heads separately? Would be nice to get one for my trip to jp

      • +1

Just get one or two adapters and take a couple of aus power boards. No need to convert every appliance individually lol

        • Nah you need a small adapter to charge outand about, i aint planning on carrying a powerboard walking the streets lol that will stay in the hotel

      • No need to for US/Japan plugs. Pull out the Aus plug head and underneath are the parallel prongs used in US/Japan.

        • "Pull out the Aus plug head and underneath are the parallel prongs used in US/Japan"
Does that apply to the BlitzWolf BW-S6 charger ?

        • @chrisie: Yes. The Aus plug slips on top of the US/Japan one. It is "international" voltage from what i understand as well (110/220V).

        • @bchliu:

What? Try yanking the AU pins off yourself. I don't want to rip mine in half.

        • @bchliu The reason I asked was I have tried to pull the plug head out without success, is there a trick in doing this ?

        • @chrisie: No.. you guys are right. I got mixed up with another similar model of mine that pulls out. My bad.. Sorry for the bum steer.

        • @bchliu: Thanks for confirming but I had great hopes you where right … Cheers

        • @bchliu: aw man i got excited

        • @jno: lol.. my bad.. it still is my favourite usb power adapter though

    • +1

Get an arealer, comes with USA built in and 3 adapters (AU, EU, UK) - have a look on ebay - about $23

      Edit - QC3 with another 2 2.4W

      • Thanks! Those look huge though haha but might have to do

      • I have a KP-4U (Google it) which has 1x QC, 2x 2.4A, and 1x USB-C. The best part is that it uses those "duckheads" just like Apple chargers which makes it easy to change the power pins.

    • Damn good idea! Remind me if we get this launched so you can get a freebie

    • Is there a US plug under the AU one? I can't find any US ones on Banggood so reading this makes me think that's the case.

    • I was researching the ideal USB charger and travel adapter combo and settled on this. I got mine for ~$100 from Qoo10 using a coupon and plan to use it in 4 countries soon.

  • Is this charger suitable for charging the Switch?

  • Will the generic USB cables work as quick charge with this. Do all cables support quick charge?

    • +2

It depends on your phone. Some phones can detect / figure out the wire quality of the cable and refuse to draw more than 0.5A out of the charger. Some of those phones would show "charging slowly" when it thinks the cable or the charger is not suitable for faster charging. Some dodgy phones do not check and still draw excess current than the cable is designed for (which can shorten the life of the cable). Some of the dirt cheap USB cables use less copper inside and some phones are smart enough to notice and won't send too much current over it. Also, some chargers won't charge certain devices at higher current (i.e. Apple iPad USB chargers can refuse to charge certain Android tablets at higher current).

In short, the answer is no - because most decent modern smartphones won't quick charge with lousy / sub-par cables.

    • +1

No, not all cables will. Stick to quality branded cables from Blitzwolf, Anker or your manufacturer.

  • is this charger compatible with the oneplus dash charging?

  • Does anyone know if Blitzwolf has any USB-A to USB-C cables that are short? I'm looking for a small travel cable for my powerbank to charge an S8.

    • +1

I had my eyes on these for a while. https://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-6-Pack-Premium-Charge-CB-C6X1/dp/B075QFZG17/ref=sr_1_1?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1525260317&sr=1-1&keywords=1ft+usb+a+to+c&refinements=p_89%3ASabrent&dpID=51czmJV6yFL&preST=SY300_QL70&dpSrc=srch

    • Not Blitzwolf, but I have this and it works great
