      I've used a netflix downloader a lot in the past, the problem was that it only supports 480p downloading.

      Assuming this software works in a similar way, it shouldn't be an issue.

          playon is screen recording and inferior in many ways, I think it does 720p.

      I pay and enjoy Netflix .. but they remove the old/gold movies and shows over time. Also it makes it easier to take content with you on vacations, which i know is possible using their download-offline options but try renewing an expired show in-flight. I would still keep paying netflix but if this software really does work it would be such a great addon.

      Because anyone who actually likes TV Shows and Movies knows that you have to buy Netflix, Stan and Foxtel just to watch most of the current shows that are out today.

      But you still miss out in plenty of shows as well as 80% of older TV Shows.

        Some people have these things called Televisions of which they like to watch in HD quality.

        They also don't want shows ripped away from them while they are halfway through a season.

        Well its not piracy as you need a Netflix a/c foe it to work.

        You can select the d/l quality which is great depending on what device its intended for.

        Most importantly you're being responsible and helping backup Netflix. What happens if they get cryto virus and all their content is locked so no one can watch it? You could be that international hero who is able to recover Sharknado or Baywatch season 1-3 for them, so the world doesn't lose such important pieces of cinematic history.

      No its not.

      Unless you say downloading Youtube videos is also Piracy.

      At that point you can also extend it to saving pictures from online websites to your computer.

      The reality is that if you watch a Youtube Video, or a Netflix video, the video is actually being saved to your computer in small chunks for you to watch it.

      All these video downloaders do is collect these small chunks and put them together for you to watch.

        I know how it works, I did for my bread and butter previously at an enterprise level
        Says as you will it is against the terms and is illegal and so is downloading YouTube videos
        You use the native app and download they can check your subscription and delete if it is required
        There are a lot of licence requirements in the background which end user doesn’t understands commercial lawyers do:p

      Shows expire and need to be renewed with Internet connectivity. You can't just extend expiry without re-downloading and i've been caught with my shows expiring while in-flight returning from a vacation.

        plus some studios titles are really draconian;
        can only renew 2 or 3 times
        then you're blocked from downloading again for a couple months

        A number of titles downloaded play stutterery if downloaded but fine streamed :(

    I've used this program.
    It's actually pretty good.

    However, the videos do get re-encoded by the program.
    But otherwise it's a good program.

    Two risks with these kind of software

    • They can steal your netflix credentials and it could be sold to third world

    • Netflix may encode watermark of your account in the video header payload and it could get included in re-encoded video. Spreading this video to public domain intentionally or otherwise may get your netflix account in trouble if it retains encoded mark to identify your account.
