That deal for the 179 dell SFF is still a pretty decent computer by todays standard, I've got a 1070 in a similarly spec'd machine from the same gen. If only you could squeeze the gpu in (well, you could but it would look like a Frankenstein of a pc).
The fact that some of the cheapest 1080s are ROG Strixs and Gaming Xs tells you some stores or suppliers are flirting with an ACCC action…
Or they're getting rid of stock to make way for the launch of the new cards
Then why have these magically slid in to about 9% higher than 1070Tis when comparing similar models?
Guess what the performance differential between the cards is for gaming and non-mining applications…

@czd: Of course, I'm just saying that this is pretty shady pricing, and it's all still $100 more than US MSRP, in some cases 23 months after launch.
In this particular case, it's still ~$60 (7%) more than what would have been a fair price point 12 months ago.
It also makes the 1080ti pricing offered by a store rep the other day (that they defended as earnest) look really dumb.
Because 1070ti with GDDR5 is a much better card for mining than a 1080 with GDDR5X in terms of overall performance and performance to watt.

The inflation is happening at supplier and retailer level; one or the other cannot explain the price movement.
Just don't put it in the Dell $170 machine.
