@yaboi are you associated with these guys? or just found this deal.

    • Yes, sorry fixed

  • @yaboi what do you mean sorry if this deal has many mistakes?

    • Because I might have an error or linked it wrong

      • Makes sense. Is .sydney $10 per year recurring?

        • Yes

        • @VNP:
Because looks like you are a reseller of synergy which from my understanding it’s only a limited time offer in which the prices are going to be increased soon and therefore you would be selling at a loss at renewal time?

        • @joshuah: The offer is up until June 30th

        • @VNP:

Yes but what about next years renewal price?

        • @joshuah: Right now, you can but it up to 10 years but after June 30th, its $60/year

        • @VNP:

I asked if it was $10 recurring and you said yes ?

        • Yeah but it's not really the best deal at the moment. What the operator should've said is it $10 for every year up to 10 years. The discount can be applied to multiple years. But has to be done during the current promotional period.

the link takes you to a page with lorum impsum or text generator on it.. doesn't look very professional.

  • +3

Edit: that was harsh… check your testimonials as it’s generic and is not professional and does not give much confidence.

Free email forwarding? is it you can create email addresses like [email protected] and forward those email to a working email address?
if so, how many email addresses you can setup for free?

    • That's correct that's normally how the email forwarding works can't tell you if it's free or not because the website is down at the moment.

  • What's the deal here? I pay $22/2-years for my .com.au domains, and even if this was cheaper your web site inspires anything but confidence.
A local fish and chip shop can get away with a lazy web page. When your business is the web…

    • I agree, not really a bargain at $25 that's about the normal standard rate you can pick these up for every day on the street you can also get it a little bit lower at some other reputable providers.

    99% uptime guarantee - that's really poor.

That means servers can be down almost 2 hours a week or over 7 hours a month and still pass the SLA.

    • -1

Well that is true. However 99% uptime guarantee is quite standard with most providers. However it's normally just compensation of a small refund or credit to your account most the time it's meaningless.

A decent real SLA normally has significant penalties on the provider. But you're not gonna get that here or anywhere at that level of hosting.

However 99% uptime guarantee is quite standard with most providers

        It's actually not.

Uptime is more than likely 99.9% for most providers and the extra 0.9% makes a massive difference.

        99%

        Daily: 0:14:24
        Weekly: 1:41:00
        Monthly: 7:18:00

        99.9%

        Daily: 0:01:26
        Weekly: 0:10:05
        Monthly: 0:43:50

I actually struggled to find another Aus host that low. Here's a quick sample of the major players (without mentioning specific names):

        CR - 99.9%
        VIP - 99.9%
        NV - 99.9%
        DIH - 99.95%
PT - 99% (but full refund)

        • Apologies you are correct it's normally around 99.5% to 99.99%. Yes that extra few points does make a huge difference. However I'll standby that the compensation always sucks.

        • @Kyle-K: Remember downtime during schedule maintenance also is normally excluded from most SLA agreements. How much notice they have to give you is something you should check the agreement for.

No deal here. The price of $11/year for .au domains is pretty normal.

    This site can’t be reached
vnp.net.au took too long to respond.

Web page not reachable. You already have problems with your uptime guarantee. Would stay away.

    • Yep can confirm the website is definitely also down here.

      • And still down…

        • still down

        • @zapy: Yeah I have a feeling this guy is not coming back online.

        • @Kyle-K: ozbargained? :)

        • @zapy:

          Website still down…
