  • Maybe list some prices?

    • they must have changed pricing - its now $99 each item - 20% off gives $79.2

      • Nope, I screwed it up and calculated at 25% off..

  • Nano switch/dimmers - what are these I can't figure it out.

    • They are Z-wave switches that go behind your standard wall switches Nano= small enough to fit behind switch cavity, switch is just that one switch light switch, dual for two switch light switch, dimmer is the same but also dims.

works great with home assistant and smart things etc…

Dealt with these guys before, fast shipping in AU. Awesome deal, just got 4 dual switches thanks

And fantastic after sales support too :)

  • Do the nano dimmers/switches support double tap, triple tap and tap and hold? Basically I’d like an always on load and wish to have the switches send events to my controller instead of turning the load on/off.

    • Not really following what you're trying to do.

    • the nano dimmer/nano switch does not, it doesnt have a physical switch wires. They into your existing wall switch.

      • It has ports for a switch though ;)

Looking at the engineering sheet I can set a parameter to not control the load (turn the electricity on/off). So that part is good….

What I want to do with it (which is working now with a fibaro single switch 2 by using sw2 wired to the wall switch) is to have my Lifx lights always supplied power, no matter what I do with the wall switch.

I want it to just send a report to my controller. Upon receiving this event my controller tells the Lifx light to turn off using its Lifx Wifi api and not Z wave… or dim to 50% if I double tap. Or reset to white if I triple tap type thing.

This is all working with the fibaro (actually haven’t tried the double tap stuff yet, I need a momentary switch haha) if I use its sw2 input, as sw1 is hard coded to always control the load.

I am specifically interested in double and triple tap support with a momentary switch on these things…

        • interesting, I'm not aware if it support the double or triple sorry. I have nanos at home but I'm using on/off toggle switches. They did used to sell a switch that wired into that had tap and hold to dim Here

Interested in your setup though, I have some yeelight bulbs in conjunction with these nano dimmers in some rooms, haveing a load always on, that would be great for wife and guest factor

        • @lerroy: That factor is what im chasing.

Its an experiment right now I’ve only got one on my most used switch to see how it works out. Got tired of double flicking the switch each time the bulb is “soft off” to bring it back on. It’s a habit that’s annoying me - I double flick all light switches I come across now!

The response time of the lights from Homeseer through the local Lifx lan api varies a lot. It isn’t the cloud based so it’s as good as it gets. Sometimes it’s near instantaneous other times up to maybe a second and a half.

I have momentary switches on my nano dimmers, and they work fine ie tap to turn on/off, tap & hold to cycle through dim/brighten. Not quite what you want I expect though. Maybe a 'wallmote' might be an idea, although have heard mixed reports on reliability…..

      • Awesome, I'm gonna have to swap out my toghlr switches :)

  • Give me a reason not buying xiaomi.

    • No!

I have lots of xiaomi gear and love them, but I'm not going to wire their wall switches into my house…xiaomi bingo @clear

  • I've got a stair light that has 2 switches, one at the top and one at the bottom. Can a nano dimmer be used to automate it or does it not work with that sort of set up?

Depends on how it's currently cabled, both these and Fibaro's support it though, I use the Fibaro switch in my hallway.

      • Sorry for possibly out of topic question. What gateway do you use @XeKToReX?
Looking to get a reliable Z-Wave gateway with nice UI and broad device support.
I currently considering Vera Plus or Vera Secure, waiting for AU version to be released. Are they fulfilling the above criteria?

        • I use HomeSeer + Z-Stick, the UI isn't amazing looking but is very functional and quite easy to use once you get your head around it.

I use the HSBuddy app which looks pretty nice on my phone, but most of my interaction with HomeSeer is via Alexa.

We like to see prices. Bargains have prices.

  • Is the Smartswitch 6 (https://capitalsmarthomes.com.au/collections/aeotec/products…) compatible with VeraLite running version 1.5.622?
