Xiaomi 90FUN Concise Business Casual Wallet, RFID Blocking Wallet $9.90 US (~$13.21 AU) Shipped @ Joybuy

551

Two different wallets up for sale by Xiaomi's sub-brand 90FUN who make all of Xiaomi's wallets, bags and luggage. Both are selling for almost double elsewhere.

The RFID blocking wallet I think looks the best despite the ability to block RFID being up for debate. It's what they named it don't get so upset over it.

Does insurance cover any costs if there is a fire sale?

    • It's actually being sold and shipped by 90FUN directly. That's why it's cheaper than everyone else.

  • So the RFID one says it has "Card Coin Holder" in the title but I can't see any pictures that support this.

I'm wondering because the previous Xiaomi wallet didn't have a coin holder so wondering if this is an improved model. By "Card Coin Holder" do they mean an actual zipped pocket or just "you can put coins in it" ?

why is it so hard to make a bifold wallet with a zipped coin pocket?

    • +4

Just what I was thinking as I looked at the product. Just by calling it Xiaomi, it doesn't make it any better than the rest of the rfid blocking so called "wallets" from China that are flooding ebay. And you'd like US$13 for that? NO, thank you.

      • +2

xiaomi basically just buy up small brands and slap their name on it. almost all of these products are of decent quality and very competitive prices. exceptions are their over ear headphones and some other niche products

    • +1

The same reason people carry phones with batteries that don't last a full day.

      Form over function.

Bellroy make a bifold note sleeve that has a little coin section, mine only lasted a year before it started stretching out though.

      • my current decent wallet from myer is starting to tear, but the coin zip section is fine. hm maybe keeping the wallet full made it start to tear? i think ill get the non-folding wallet in this deal. seems fine for australia since we have plastic notes that can be folded

    • I dislike them as it adds to the thickness/weight of the wallet. I am more of a light weight/thin wallet type.
But that's the great thing where you buy as you need it.

I use my coin pocket on my jeans instead.

why is it so hard to make a bifold wallet with a zipped coin pocket?

      It's called a purse.

      • actually like the zipped coin pocket, yes it can get chunky but i hate having coin leftovers if i have to use cash and not having a zipped coin pocket in the wallet is annoying for me anyway

      • Haha or get a fanny pack aka bum bag. Goes so well with my red tracksuit while power walking thru the mall

Why do people want to carry coins in their wallet? Eww…

      • +1

i have an internet banking token thing that i keep in my wallet

        • No apps? That's way too old school man.

        • @Munki: apps are tied to phone number that i wont be using when overseas

      • +1

        To pay for parking.

        • +1

No room in your car for coins?

        • @choofa: If it's in your car, you can't use it to pay for things to avoid getting more coins in change.

e.g. if something costs $12.40, I will see if I can find $2.40 in coins to avoid getting $2.60 in coins back as change. That way I always minimize my coins because I'm always using them. And on the rare occasion that I pay with the last of my coins it puts a smile on my face.

But I carry the coins in a coin pouch separate from the wallet anyway.

If you pay for everything on card, you avoid this problem. But then on statement date, you experience the lump sum owing which I always dread. It's going to be big. I pay for small things with cash if I can.

    • I have found zips break on my wallets with the use they get and also the banging / movement in my pockets, I now prefer the ones that just have a simple "Stud" if thats the right word, my current one has lasted a long long time!

When will this RFID blocking bullshit finally die off?

    • +2

It won't. Ignore that and embrace the sexy wallet.

    • +1

When people realise that normal leather wallets block RFID.

    • hopefully soon. I accidentally bought one with RFID blocker and now I can't get into my workplace without pulling out the swipe of my wallet. so annoying!!!

  • Thanks OP. Nice Wallet..

RFID Blocking wallet is no BS. it saves phone's battery for not scanning my credit cards when place on top of the wallet.

    • +8

Thats why I buy pants with at least 2 pockets: One for wallet + keys and one for the phone.

    • -5

Or you could simply turn NFC on only when needed.

      • +2

        Wow surprised by the negs,

Yeah I only turn it on when needed…

Guess the negers are also the ones with wifi, bluetooth and location on all the time.. then complaining to colleagues that their phone battery is always low

        • You don't know me or my phone.

        • That's not the reason.

        • -1

Because the neggers are xiaomi internet mercenaries and the sheeps. Well, no point to educate those "uneducatable".

        • Guess the negers are also the ones with wifi, bluetooth and location on all the time.. then complaining to colleagues that their phone battery is always low

Haha, that sounds just about right.

        • @CocaKoala: You were being negged to remove your neg. OzBargain 101 when it comes to negs on deals.

        • Xioami can't sell something at a premium price for putting their label on it. That's my reason for negging the deal, but I fully understand if you didn't like it.

Many others are onboard with you on the positive votes, so I don't quite understand why the 1 negative vote should bring much of a botheration.

        • @CocaKoala: Technically speaking you won't even find a Xiaomi logo on it anywhere.

        • Technically speaking you won't even find a Xiaomi logo on it anywhere.

Thank you, I didn't know that. That's even more a reason for them to not charge $13, then.

Why is rfid bullshit? Isn't it a real issue? We bought cheap plastic envelopes from ebay and they work. They look like they have aluminium in the plastic. I keep two cards in one. Tap and go doesn't work if they're in the envelopes - I've tried.

    • Thats what I did …

Now I just cut it in two, put each side on the outter part of my wallet.

I have one between my work id and the other cards, so I can still swipe my wallet to get into work

      • I think the 'bs' isn't in whether or not it works, but companies using the inordinate fear that customer's have of 'hackers swiping' their card.

  • in my opinion, RFID is a sales gimmick.

    This helps explain it well.

  • Thanks OP got one

  • Damn! The Xiaomi 90FUN Concise Business Casual Wallet is sold out. I really wanted to get one too, its the exact type of wallet I've been looking for. Hopefully the deal comes up again.

    • 23 days till sale over. keep checking the website daily

  • The joy buy checkout system is atrocious. I was trying to go ahead when there were two still left in stock and at the payment stage it says 'system is busy'.

  • Still PU leather, is it any good?

  • the rfid wallet on the second link, is that real xiaomi product? i fail to find it on the xiaomi website and taobao website.

    https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a230r.1.14.24.9ea963cbs…

compare to this one on the list which is also shows on xiaomi china site, the wallet looks much different, and costs double.

  • I keep getting a payment failed - system error message.

I'm not game to pay with any other method than paypal. Will keep trying, any excuse to get more xiaomi products, thanks OP.

edit: seems so be working fine now.

  • back in stock

My paypal email shows no state (should be NSW) instead showing as 2457 and then the postcode, seems like joybuy changed the "NSW" to 2457, did anyone get that?

    • I few people have reported the same in previous deals. Check your actual Joybuy order and see what it says.

  • My totem wallet from a few years back is still going strong, love it.

  • Thanks OP got one. Xiaomi 90FUN Concise Business Casual Wallet is back in stock!

  • "Protact" information. LOL.

    • Glad you could make it! These don't have Xiaomi anywhere on them.

  • Is RFID a real concern or overblown?

  • smart wallet that collects money?

  • They seem to have a wallet sale

  • whats the dimension of the Concise Business Casual Wallet?

    • Description will tell you on the product page.

  • Can anyone who has one comment on how it's any different from a regular PU leather wallet from Aliexpress?

  • So this would require me to take my myki out of my wallet. No thanks.

  • Just arrived

    • Same.
