Crap i was eyeing in 3000 sofa bed to use with this deal, anything is good

Bay Leather Republic have jacked up prices in the past couple of weeks. There is a stepped up offer of 30—20% depending on total spend that is ongoing now. We were looking for some Latitude Sofa's and it s at least $500 -750 more than it was in April. Stacking with Amex may make it tip over the line - but it is probably about the right price point for a decent leather sofa (not a bargain as such)

    • I have the latitude and they are really nice and still holding strong

Wait till next month and they should have a buy one get one free offer

  • We’ve got a number of pieces from BLR. 6 years on and still looking new - if you take care of it properly.

  • hope the tax cuts tonight will make it more affordable to shop at BLR..

  • Expensive but you're paying for what you get. I was lucky enough to score a $4500 BLR leather modular lounge off Gumtree for $450 that was hardly used, one section of it never. And there is just no comparison to comfort, quality and looks. A lot of cheddar but like a good quality bed, measure how long of your life is spent using it. The justification can be made!

I am looking to purchase another modular section for the lounge to increase the size to match my room even more, so if anyone in Perth wants something around the 3k mark could make this work for the both of us (I haven't costed what the other modular section would cost, I'm guessing around $1500..)

I would never buy used furniture. Bed bugs are pretty common these days and if you get an infestation it can cost you from a few hundred to a few thousand to eradicate them.

I also treat all my new furniture with a strong pesticide against bed bugs before it enters my home

      • Each to their own, personally I think that's a bit bubble boy - What doesn't kill us, makes us stronger. Agreed I wouldn't buy a busted out old piece of furniture from an unknown, but there are some great finds for hardly used furniture to be had a good discount. Pretty confident I'm free of an infestation.

      • My wife saw a free leather couch on a local facebook page at xmas. Father in law was in town with his trailer, so we brought it home.

It was full of dog hair which I cleaned. It's now awesome.

Father in law is pest controller. He wasn't concerned about the risk of bed bugs. But you are right that they are difficult to get rid of.

        Then again live a little.

He wasn't concerned about the risk of bed bugs. But you are right that they are difficult to get rid of.

Issue with bed bugs is that they hide in the smallest cracks in the house. They can also survive 12 - 18 months with no food (aka blood). One bed bug can infest a whole house over a year or 2.

@easternculture: Also, they have sex by traumatic insemination. That means the male stabs the female somewhere through the carapace, and her circulation brings the semen to the right spot.

Not relevant, but it’s pretty metal.

Plus the store has 30% off 5k spend. so you can effectively get 50% off.
    Eg. Spend 5800 less 30% (1740) less Amex (1200) = 2860

Looking to get the Grand Lodge Sofa 3 Seater. If anyone in Sydney is interested in a 2.5-3k item, it might be worth going in together to get the effective 50% off

      • I am interested into combine. pm me.

        • I'm unable to PM you as you don't allow it. Could you try PMing me after turning it on in your settings? Thanks

        • If you could get the total spend to 8k and split the payments over two cards… That would be next level. That's a cool 60% off!

      • The grand lodge is a super comfortable sofa. Highly recommend.

Thanks OP, I had a spare $4000 lying around didn't know what to do with it

    • cheers.

  • Probably worth mentioning it is only available in store at Auburn, Alexandria, Essendon and Nunawading

  • Spend $40000 to get $12000 back to buy a new car would be a good deal eh?

  • Any one use amex to buy the sofa from the store, I went there, they don't received Amex with the 30% off offer.

    • The key fact is have you registered your Amex for the deal? Whether the store knows about the deal is irrelevant. You receive the $1200 back as a credit on your Amex card.

      • they knew the offer, that's why they refused me to pay by Amex.

        • +2

Take it up with Amex - they would be interested to hear this.

  • +1

Yes, I was refused the offer too. Apparently you cannot double dip with their current promotion - so either 30% off as per their normal promo or pay full price and use the Amex promo. In fact, they said if you wish to pay in full ($5.8K in my instance), I can only do so with Visa< Master or Cash. They have a printed out T&C (quite rushed with the font, alignment and all) that specifically says so.

    • +1

Yes they said some stuff to me …. will see what Amex will say … nothing in Amex terms and conditions

      • -1

Rung Amex and the CSR lady was no pleased. They are going to come back within a couple of days as they have to liaise with their marketing team. Apparently this is the first time they have had this problem with their offers so far!!!

        • @Sidy: could you pm me too please!

        • +2

@Sidy: Why the secrecy? I am interested to know the outcome as well.

        • @SydneySwan: Why the secrecy? I am interested to know the outcome as well. can you pm me plz?

        • @Sidy same I would like to know. I just went in today and they were like no

        • Pm me please. I'm interested in knowing the outcome as well

        • PM me please. i would like to know as well

People who want to know the truth, don't waste your time and effort here, I have not received any response from this person who really likes to keep it as a secret for some mess-up reason~ if I know what is going on, I will post it here

        • Please pm me :)
