Hey Op, is it really: "Minimum of 2 copies of the same title in the same transaction"? I do not see why they would require you to buy a minimum of 2 of the same movie.

    Nice find BTW

    • +1

Yes unfortunately the only movie in the promo is justice league

      • +13

You say that as if you could call justice league a movie

    • Ha Thanks I accidentally typed minimum not maximum lol

  • Amazon deal works out cheaper?

    • +4

      Amazon selection is poor

  • -1

Is this going to overlap with 20% off?

    • +2

      20% off finished yesterday

      • -1

        lol rip

  • +2

Finally it's confirmed. My saving is ready for once a year.

  • Does that include box sets or is that some serious hopeful thinking there?

    • +2

It should, i bought the sopranos and the wire boxsets during last years sale.

  • +1

Is the Stack thing still work?

  • How do you view the upcoming catalog? I went to the link but just see the old/current ones.

    • +3

He probably got a physical one in the mail, they send those early

  • Would be good to know if this covers all titles. I assume it would.

Black Panther is releasing on 30 May :(

  • Just bought 15 Blu-Rays from Amazon AU. Luckily they informed me that they have free returns, so if this works out I am set to save ~$35 by returning and ordering through JB Hi-Fi. Hopefully JB Hi-Fi don't change prices or lose stock before then.

    • How does the returns work for Amazon?
Do they provide a return label? Or do we pay return postage first?

      • They told me to return items and I would automatically get refunded $17 for postage. Not sure how this works out if the return postage cost was less than $17, however above $17 they say to email a receipt to [email protected] and they will refund. Also they said I can email my receipts less than $17 if I want faster postage refund.

So sounds like we pay first, but haven't tried to make a return through their systems yet.

        • Did your items have "free return" on the listing?

        • @congngo: No, but they told me in live chat that all my items were free returns.

      • Most of the blurays on Amazon don't have free returns.

  • +1

I'm glad i waited for this deal

  • +1

I am looking at the following on 4k

    The shape of water $39.98
Gaurdians of the galaxy vol 2 $29.98
Maze runner the death cure $39.98
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle $39.98
    Coco $36.98
    The hitman's bodygaurd $32.98

I take it that they give you the cheapest of the 2 you buy so I'll do 3 different transactions

The shape of water and maze runner togeather so that should be $39.98

Jumanji welcome to the jungle and coco so that should be $39.98

The hitman's bodyguard and Gaurdians of the galaxy vol 2 so that should be $32.98

$112.94 all up at $18.82 a disc and I'll be very happy

If you haven't already, get Planet Earth 2 and Blue Planet 2 in this sale. It wasn't in the amazon sale, so this would be a great time to get those.

      • I have bought Planet Earth 2 and Blue Planet 2 already and the looked fantastic and well as entertaining

  • I would like to buy the Christopher Nolan collection (194 dollars) in the Adelaide CBD. I wonder if anyone here would like to share the cost.

  • +2

    Man I want 'A Quiet Place' :(

  • +1

Be careful how you buy these deals at JB. If you buy 2 expensive items and 2 cheap items, they don't automatically pair in your favour.

    • +2

Yeah you have to split orders. Also I noticed they postage costs disproportionately increase above 10 Blu-Rays per order, making order splitting cheaper in some cases.

      • Hmm today postage costs was cheaper to order 12 Blu-Rays at once… maybe I made a mistake yesterday?

    • Yep, I remember this being a pain in the past. Same thing happens when you go to store. Don't know if we can talk our way out of the proper priced stack but I remember the store I went to didn't so I had to go back later for another sale. (Negotiations probably varies on each store perhaps at a guess)

  • I think I will use a bunch of stack codes before they expire.
Am I right in thinking it'll take 2 codes per order.
The first stack code goes to the one that is free unfortunately and the second takes the price off the remainder one.
Happened last time with the B2G!F.

    • Could you spare one if you end up with leftover codes?
      Thanks

  • Sadly the Harry Potter 8 disc 4K box set has disappeared from JB site over the last week. Buying each film individually will cost another $20 bucks

  • +1

    Deaaaals is live online now!

    • Yep just checked my basket - half price. Going to see if I can return my Amazon orders.

  • +1

Some movies here are more expensive than Amazon

    • +1

      Username checks out

    • Significantly and in cases double the price… Even in Amazon's BOGOF deal.

  • Ok To confirm.
It takes two stack codes to get the discount so use them wisely.
I got thus far with codes
!.Game Of Thrones 7 & The Expanse 1 on BR. Worked out $15.99 each.
2.The Last Jedi & Thor Ragnarok for $11.99 each.
    3. Guardians Galaxy Vol 2 & War With Planet..Apes for $9.99 each

    • It would be appreciated if you would explain step by step how you're doing that, including what these stacked codes are exactly.

      Cheers

      • Once you add two items to cart - add the first stack code in the "apply coupon" section. Once that is redeemed and supposedly makes no impact on the price, add the second code. The System will think for a second or two and then show you the 20% off on the price.
        Hope this makes sense.

    • Two stack codes? No wonder my only stack code made no effect on the price.

  • The first stack code you enter defaults to the free item. 20% off 0.00 = 0.00
The second stack code you enter then goes to the other item and you then get the 20% off.
I believe the stack codes expire on 30/6.
Unfortunately you waste a lot of them on the free items to get the deal.
A matter of picking stuff you know wont be in the 2 for 20 or B2G1F down the track-such as Disney owned titles.

  • Anyone got any stack codes left?

The prices are still a bit more expensive than the 20% off and the Stack codes from the previous deal… Luckily I stocked up on 4k movies then but no stack codes left

  • where did that stack codes come from? My subscription one expired in feb

  • Can anyone confirm whether or not this deal stacks with the "spend $50 on BBC, ABC or HBO and receive a $20 coupon" deal that is also currently running?

If it does you could potentially get Blue Planet Collection, something else to the value of $59 and 2 $20 titles tomorrow or Saturday for just the price of Blue Planet

    • Can confirm it stacks. However if you are buying multiple discs to get to $50+ you have to ensure your BBC, HBO, ABC titles have to be the more expensive discs that you are paying for.

      • Does anyone know what happens if both items are the same price?
Do we need to make sure the the BBC, HBO, ABC title scans first.

      • Can you apply the $20 discount voucher to pay for BOGOF discs, and so getting in effect a $40 discount?

Disc 1 $30, disc 2 $25 becomes $0 (BOGOF offer). Apply $20 discount voucher so the final payment is $10.

Or will it be like this instead?

        Disc 1 $30, disc 2 $25 becomes $5 ($20 discount voucher) becomes $0 (BOGOF offer). Final payment is $30.

So yesterday and today I tried out what I said in my original comment

Yesterday picked up Blue Planet Collection for $59.98 and got Attenborough's Africa for free (would've chosen something of better value, but Africa was incorrectly priced at $40 - scanned at $25)

I then got my $20 coupon and used that today to pick up 11.22.63 ($24.98 in store price error) and Disaster artist for free and only paid $4.98

        • @Ninternet: Thank you for the info and I can confirm the offers stack both ways. The spend $50 get $20 offer really should attract wider attention and more votes.

        • @alvian:
Would be interested to know if anybody has tried buying a BBC, HBO, ABC title for at least $50 and another Blu Ray which is more expensive than that and still qualify for the $20 coupon even though the BBC, HBO, ABC title ended up being free due to the BOGOF deal.

        • @gunnie: Please try it and report back. There is a high chance that it won't work as you won't be "paying" for a qualifying product, but you can do a change of mind refund immediately after. You can't lose but for a little inconvenience.

        • @alvian: I asked in store today and was told if a BBC etc item is the cheaper (ie. free) part of the buy one get one free deal then it doesn't count towards the $50 spend needed for the $20 coupon.

  • Works for Planet Earth 2 and Blue Planet 2 (individual discs).

    • When you say works for, do you mean the $20 coupon? Is that buying both in single transaction, even though total paid is below $50, as $39.98 total (due to buy 1 get 1 free)? Thanks

  • Does anyone have a spare stack code? Please PM me, thanks.

  • You basically need two stack codes per two item order. One won't work on its own.

  • +2

The only movie i can see that looks like its worth getting that i dont already have is the original bladerunner.

  • Original RRP is mostly inflated, what these sales generally do is make you buy something you want, and add something you don't reallllly want. You don't end up saving much.

  • +3

God damnit Sony why wouldn't you make the PS4Pro play UHD discs.

  • Does it bother people that blurays in this country dont tend to come in a slip case?
    Just looks so much better

  • If anyone has a spare Stack code - would be super grateful! thanks.

  • Note that there are exclusions to this deal - eg the '2 for $30 TV on DVD' stickers stock will not be BOGOF.

    • +3

I dont think any DVDs are part of it

  • +2

I love how Amazon matches the price with JB, some blurays are even addedd to B1G1F after price discount. Save me a trip to JB to get this order

    Thor Ragnarok 4k
    Dunkirk 4k
    Coco 4k
Dawn Of planet of the Apes 4k
War For the Planet of the Apes 4k

Total is $57 with $20 discount for new account, $11 each movie. Nice!

  • Someone just made the suggestion - could you buy 2 4k discs today while the deal is still on and then take one back during the week and swap it for The Matrix?

    Anyone tried this before?

    • No they won't let you. You only have that much in credit which is the discounted price on the receipt

      • Thanks that makes sense.
