I call BS on the 'was' price. I've never seen this set remotely close to that price. A quick Google shows a heap of places selling at the $299 price or close to it. No need to frenzy over this one, people.

    • Same with rugs, bags and knives. Anyone who believes the RRP price is an actual price the product is sold for is an idiot.

But the price has been slashed.

  • the $859 is probably the RRP? but it’s never even close to that

Crappy knives for crappy price lol

    • +2

      Global aren't crappy.

      • They're alright knives. There's better pure japanese knives though.

  • Problem is keeping a knife sharp. I would rather 2 average knives and know how to sharpen them, than have an expensive 7 piece set and use cheap "quick-fix" sharpeners.

    • Spyderco Tri-angle Sharpmaker, easy to use and gets knives razor sharp.

  • i use to think BS on the RRP…but if you go to myer:

    https://www.myer.com.au/shop/mystore/home/all-kitchen/knives…

these go for $300+ else where

I just wonder who's buying them from myer??!

Best knife block is the Wiltshire 12 knife Staysharp blocks because it's $100 and all the steak knives can be used for cutting normal things like tomatoes and cheese.
