Kingston A400 120GB SSD $43.16 Delivered @ Futu Online eBay

200
PROTOTYPE

Have seen a few comments in WD Green SSD deals that the Kingston A400 SSD's perform significantly better in this price range, however they are generally more expensive. Futu have lowered their price to $53.95 from the previous $61.95 as seen in the purchase history. This now makes it only a few dollars more than the existing WD Green deal, but an increase in performance should make it a better option.

This should also be the lowest price yet for this particular model, as the previous $39 deal required additional costs for shipping. Can't see any cheaper options in comparison on StaticICE.

  • falling ssd prices mean these small slow drives will be hard to shift …

    • What are the speed difference in boot times compared to these
      "slow" ssd and normal ones?

      • +1

I run a Linux machine (Ubuntu Mate) with a 'slow' ssd. It boots in less than 10 seconds with a full DE.

        • That's actually quite quick…..

      • I don't think that much with SSD already quite quick.

        • +3

Exactly, so I don't understand why people bag out these "slow" SSD when normal SSD are only 1-2seconds faster.

    • +1

Yeah let's just wait for the PCIe NVMe drives to be this cheap.
