InsureandGo - 22% off Domestic and 15% off International Travel Insurance

Browsing Facebook and this came up from I Know The Pilot.

After doing heaps of comparisons for international insurance costs (which I will put in the comments below for anyone thats interested) I found this similar deal, and then this comment by neil:

Appreciate the post OP but you can get 20% off Insure and Go via Groupon. No need to buy the groupon just use code groupon20. Must redeem by June 30, 2018. You can buy insurance for up to 12 months before the trip so good for trips until June 30, 2019.

So basically use that code 'groupon20' for international travel. This code works out slightly cheaper for domestic insurance.

Domestic cover for 2 weeks, 25 year old came to $33 with InsureandGo, Tick Travel was about the same and most competitors were double.

  • Originally I did these comparisons using my code 'HOME22', but after seeing that the 'GROUPON20' one was better I have updated it for this.

Heading to Thailand soon and compared a few providers, obviously its hard to compare as they all offer slightly different things, but based on my travels here are the quotes I found closely matching the InsureandGo Silver insurance for two weeks in Thailand for 2 people with $100 excess.

    InsureandGo: $110.22
Travel Insurance Direct: The Basics $159
    1Cover: Comprehensive $180 ($200 excess)
Budget Direct: Essential $161 (Last Minute slightly cheaper at $113.73, covers much less though)
Australia Post: Basic $131.40 (using TRAVEL10 code)

I did however find that the Tick Travel Insurance was cheaper with the current OFFER15 code. It came to $77 standard plan or $102 for the top plan with $200 excess.

    • Compare World2Cover, they recently had a 25% sale.

For me I paid $117 for my trip - would've been $148.40 with these guys.

Edit: I went with no excess on both for comparison.

      • I saw this deal, it seems their sale has ended though. When I put in the coupon it comes up as invalid. Essentials (their midrange cover) is $135.92 for this same trip. Would have definitely been cheaper than this deal if the code was working.

        • Had a look through that post and theres a 'WW20ENTB' code that works for 20% off - just tested and is working so maybe worth a look ;)

        • @urbancartel: Thanks been searching for a code

Cheers OP - have a trip to Thailand in a few days too, so this is a timely post for me :)

    • Happy to help! I think I will go with Tick Travel Insurance using the OFFER15 code and get the standard cover, it seems more than enough for 2 weeks in Thailand.

      • Yeah i'm thinking of going with Tick too as i'm really just after something for medical bills so works out great… hopefully don't need it ;)

    • trip to Thailand in a few days

      • cheers JV - pretty sure i've been jabbed for that as a kid

        • It wears off after about 10 years…

You don't want to catch it again at a later age, especially if you are male…

        • @jv:

Ah I didn't know that - thanks for the info

  • Odd 5 day NZ trip is same price as 21 day Asia trip?

Insureandgo are hopeless! Takes months and months to claim anything and you need to have copy of every receipt.

    • Mhhh … how do you ever claim without a receipt?

  • Needs a good read of the PDS, some / many things only covered on silver and gold that others cover in basic cover.
