Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 13.3 - i5-7200U + GeForce MX150 + 8GB RAM + 256GB SSD for $693.99 USD | ~$950.77 AUD Delivered @ GearBest

Seems like he price has been dropping on this lately. Only issue is that it is a 7th gen Intel i5-7200U rather than the 8th gen i5-8250U meaning it is dual core rather than quad core. There is a relatively large difference between the two, though both are still reasonably good CPU's.

Notebook Check comparison: https://www.notebookcheck.net/7200U-vs-8250U_8152_9206.24759…

I've been trying to find an 8th gen model for sale but it seems like they might be clearing out all their 7th gen stock to make room for the 8th gen as I can't seem to find any for sale at a somewhat reasonable price.

As usual with Xiaomi laptops be aware this comes with a Chinese language install and will require a fresh Windows install to change the language to English. There are plenty of guides on Youtube showing how to do this (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E6KR0mHeraw).

    No bargain, wayyyy overpriced.

It would be bargains if it is under $800 aud

Personally I wouldn't pay more than $600 AUD for a laptop with literally no warranty.

        • Agree man, near end of sales now, there will a lot more alternatives coming out about $800 - 1000, I personally rather buy a refurbished XPS13 than this at 1k mark.

It does come with some limited warranty, specifically a full year (https://www.gearbest.com/about/warranty-and-return.html). I believe Australian consumer law also entitles any customer to a reasonable warranty regardless of whether it's specifically offered or not.

@Kubric: you have zero ACL rights or protection when purchased through a international seller without a ABN, that's what grey import is, that's why even Samsung won't touch a phone that's been purchased outside of Australia they have no legal obligation to do so

@Dezeption: Oh gotcha, had no idea about that. Bummer that sucks!

        • @Yaren24: Similarly spec'd machines with dedicated graphics? That's basically what I've been looking for, something in that range with a 13.3" screen, latest gen i5 and dedicated graphics. Basically all I've really found is this and the Acer Swift 3 (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/371546). Plenty out there that don't have itegrated graphics like the Zenbook someone else mentioned but that's why I was thinking this was a relatively well priced deal.

If you don't mind me asking why do you think this is poorly priced?

        • @Kubric: Curious why you wouldn't get the Acer 3 over this?

        • @Autonomic: It's a much larger and heavier laptop for basically the same price. I'm looking for something that I can carry around the house easily and I can take backpacking later on. Also aesthetically it isn't nice (will get crucified for this here hahaha).

        • @Kubric:

I am not saying it is overly priced, but since we have so many options for ultrabooks which at least we have 1 year warranty in case problems occur. Even you buy from DSE, they have the XPS13 (refurbished) about 1k mark, which I think is great. I have a desktop and a laptop (dell 15 7000 series). I just found my 7000 series too bulky to carry out when you go travel it is not pleasant experience carrying 3.5kg of the laptop, with the 13 inch laptops weighing less than 2kg it defiantly is a better option even on flight smaller screen is way better than the larger screen. Carrying at home, 13 inches is more than sufficient, I am even thinking to buy a 2nd hand ultrabook if it cost too much.

    • Really? It seems like a decent deal considereding every other time it's been posted it's been listed at a similar price. Cheapest its ever been is $AU909.

    • Do you mind expanding on why? This seems like a pretty reasonable price. I know it's a 7th gen CPU but it's also got the latest dGPU (MX150) as opposed to integrated graphics. From what I can see nothing else in this size range has anything similar while being a similar price. They're all 1200-1500+ for 8th gen i5 and MX150.

This one is more attractive for the sub $1k price tag, if you're looking for a 13.3 inch laptop with a quad core processor, aluminium finish and fingerprint sensor.

True, however it only has integrated graphics (Intel UHD 620) as opposed to the significantly more powerful MX150.

  • Hi OP,the Flash Sale Price: $693.99,could you pls update this deal with a better price?

    • The AUD price was already correct, looks like a user updated the USD price.

    • Fixed.

Any idea when the i5-8250 version will be available?

Mine recently had an issue with the discrete graphics. Had to format. The factory reset tool failed, so I had to download windows recovery tool and put it on a usb. Used an English tool, booted after installing os, clicked on activate windows, used troubleshooter, and windows took some time fixing itself. Eventually, it rebooted, and i now have English os. Perfect student/travel laptop
