I've been on the lookout for an upgrade to my Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 13 (6th gen i5 / 940MX). Came across this Acer and it ticks a lot of boxes for me. The only standout complaint is the screen is not particularly bright and the SD card reader is slow.

The MX150 in this laptop is the full speed version (there are slower clocked versions floating around in some devices). RAM cannot be upgrade.

No matter which shipping option you choose, the deal comes in under $1,000 AUD, so no concerns about GST.

Note: the Notebook Check review is for the i7 version (deal is for i5 version), however much of the laptop will be the same).

In Feb a deal was posted for the 7th gen / 128gb SSD version for $719 AUD (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/361905). This laptop has an 8th gen CPU, which is a quad-core and are a LOT faster than 7th gen variants (which were only dual core). This one also has double the storage with a 256gb SSD. Kogan are selling the i7 version of this laptop for $1500 AUD.

First time posting, let me know if I stuffed anything up.

If you purchase the system in the US the domestic warranty would be in the US. In addition, the system has an International Travelers Warranty but this is for genuine travelers only. Terms and Conditions are posted at http://www.acer.com/worldwide/support/itw.htm. This page also provides links to the ITW service locations, ITW FAQ, and ITW Service Limitations. Please note if you live outside North America but purchase the system in the US, you will not get a domestic warranty in your country of residence. If local repair and support is important to you, we recommend you purchase the system in the country of residence. see less

  • I am not sure how many boxes you need to tick(s), but might be worth waiting for deal like this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/366890 seems more realistic on "Better CPU, Graphic and Local warranty ?"

  • Anyone experience issues with warranty for this type of purchase? It's probably the only thing stopping me from pulling the trigger.
