The roti parantha's and any other types of frozen rotis or (plain) paranthas either by Katoomba or other companies generally almost come across as plasticy. The only one's I genuinely enjoy are the Haldiram stuffed parantha's (potato, cauliflower, etc).

    • Don't think Costco sells them. Although, Haldiram's samosas are sold at Costco.

Well there is a reason for that and is most of them are made by same company in Malaysia. Most of importers here are getting their products by job works. They don't manufacture that. Just read the label on back.

Whatever brand you choose, you won't get the taste of homemade or original that you get in the country. Simply because they need to keep that product for long shelf life & for that they need to add "things" which are definitely not a good option for health and that alters the taste bit and of course msg does opposite.

    • Agreed, the good rotis are refrigerated.

I think these are fantastic! so much tastier & fluffier then the fresh square ones you find in the supermarket.
2mins each side in a hot oiled fry. Great for mopping up curries or using as a roti wrap.

Sure it's not as good as going to Gurney Dr in Penang, but it's taste none the less. and ~25c each you can't go too wrong

Agree that Katoomba’s is miles ahead of the supposedly “fresh” square version in chiller section. Also a bargain at that price, shame I don’t have Costco membership.

  • Put one between foil and use a sandwich press. Awesome. Crispy. Recommended.
