  • also great for anyone wanting some high-power cells for powertools, etc.

A shame it is one-per-customer, or I'd buy a bunch for an e-Bike.

      It is one per order … I bought 7, to build a 36V 10S2P 10.4Ah pack

      Not so sure now …

I have only opened two batteries so far. Neither of them had enough charge to even light up the battery gauge and were only outputting around 1.5V across all three cells … from my limited understanding of LiPo cells this is very very bad, the cells should never fall below 2.5V or even 3V per cell (at least under load).

However I am about to finish charging one of the batteries and it appears to have taken around 5.8Ah of charge, which is about right including charge losses. The proof will be in the capaciry test which I will run shortly.

No smoke or swelling - it is in a fireproof box in the middle of my lawn :)

Will let you know how it goes, or if I end up carting all of the batteries back to JBHifi in town. Sure they will love me.

Update. Have only tested one battery so far, but on first cycle no issues, capacity 5Ah at .5A discharge rate. Will cycle this battery again to see if the capacity changes and then try some more.

Will have to jury rig something to discharge faster and log the current.

Perhaps the batteries controller is in a sleep mode and only shows 1.5V when activated, which is enough for the charger to pick up on … I had to give it a voltage kick to get my LiPo charger to be happy about charging it.
