has anyone that actually applied for this bundle offer confirm that 2 credit check entries were marked on their credit file or not?

also can one just apply using the promo link and do the visa only application and quality for the 75k without proceeding with the amex application?

    • Good question i would like to know too

  • just provided proof of income…once approved, can anyone share how long it took to arrive in post? have some insurance and rego bills I can use this to pay with

  • @findercomau seems like it's not just me having issues with Westpac regarding the AMEX side of application. Have spent over an hour on the phone with Westpac - AMEX - Westpac, and the applications team has no idea what's going on.

Like @ezza, I too would not mind not having the AMEX in this bundle. Can you confirm though the 75k bonus points for the Visa will not be affected by the absence of the AMEX int this bundle?

    • i am in the same situation, i have issues with the AMEX side of the application. The visa side went through fine but the AMEX side is having issues

  • Westpac is a nincompoop. Annoying enough you have to go to the branch to pick up the card, but when I received an email saying to pick up my card at the local branch, I went, only to have the disinterested woman say "oh, did you get a phone call?". The card wasn't there yet. Seems pretty disorganised for a major 4 bank.

    • Had the same experience. The confirmation email and letter both stated I could have activated the card online or by phone. But no, after trying to both I have to go into a branch to activate. Even after the card was activated I could not register for online banking, had to call to identify myself again to register for online banking.

      • Kind of glad they gave me a rejection before even generating a credit file hit, seems like Westpac are a nightmare. Applied for and have been approved for the NAB pointhacks deal instead.

  • 3 weeks after I was approved by westpac and got sent the card, just received an email from amex saying they were assessing my aplication .

    • Just got two emails, one saying being reviewed and second one approved. Finally!

  • It says minimum income is $50k, but is that Westpacs minimum income ? I don't want to apply and get knocked back from Amex

  • I applied last week, got 2 separate approval emails a couple of days later and received the cards yesterday. Now to spend $3k to get the 75k points :)

  • I got this deal. I have now spent more than $3k on my VISA and my first statement was issued today, however it shows no bonus points being issued :(

All other cards I've got always had the bonus points issued on the first statement the spend criteria was met.

Does anyone know what's going on, maybe they will issue on my next statement?

  • I just completed my application so hopefully will get the card quickly. Already hold the freebie AMEX Qantas Discovery so the AMEX bonus is out for me, but I never could've spent enough anyway. So in some ways I'm hoping I get something similar to people above where I get the Westpac VISA card and just don't complete enough for AMEX to approve their card.

  • I got rejected right?
It says we need to have a look and come back to you in three days

  • If you apply for both cards, and AMEX is rejected. Do you still get the 75K points ?

    • -2

no. you'll get the westpac component if you are approved (for that one).

      • what i understood is the westpac component is 75K points and AMEX is 15K points, what do you mean by no ? plz help thanks

    • +1

Yes, as long as you meet the spend requirements, you'll still receive the 75K points from the Visa offer.

      Hope that helps!

  • Spent $3700 in my first month on the VISA card, got charged the $50 Qantas fee has been 5 days since statement.
No sign of 1,850 QF points for purchased or 75,000 bonus points.
Working on the Amex as we speak lol (to rack up the $3k spend).

    • Same, even the standard points (didn't expect the bonus points) have not come through into the Qantas account 4 days after the monthly online statement was sent.

    • I've yet to receive points for May 2018 from my NAB credit card. What are the chances it's part of a bigger issue with QFF?

Here's the T&Cs by the way:

The Points earned during your monthly Card statement cycle may not all appear on your Qantas Frequent Flyer statement for the next month as the transfer occurs approximately 6 days prior to the end of your Card statement cycle. Points for transactions made after the transfer date will appear on your next month’s Qantas Frequent Flyer statement.

      • I have received QFF points from other cards within 2-3 days of them showing up on the statement (as recent as 10 days back).
I will call Westpac to check if they know of any issues.

        • Let us know how you go… I'm sick of calling Westpac and getting the run around with different answers.

          @ezza:

So, I called up Westpac Cards Customer Service. They did the basic checks at their end & could not figure out why the points hadn't come through.

They then put me through to another team (called the 'Earth Service Centre' on the IVR). The rep there advised that the points had not come through because my account did not have the Qantas FF number associated with it (in spite of the QFF number showing up on the Westpac CC monthly statement).

The rep then registered my Qantas FF number on the account and has advised any accrued points will be automatically credited on the last day of the month.

Hope this helps - their direct number is 1300 132 431.

I will confirm early next month if the points did come through as promised.

          Thanks.

    • Same. statement end date 24 June. Spent over 3k on the card. No points yet.

    • I just got the statement(have already spent $3k on westpac altitude qantas card. Looks like they have provided 60k bonus points and NOT 75K. Any one else have similar issues?

      • Nope. Got the 75k bonus points from the westpac side.

  • I spent 3k in a matter of weeks and no points yet. Anyone get anything yet?

    • Check to make sure they have your qff. See above and you can call them to confirm.

  • I'm still waiting on my points from their 100k offer back in Dec/Jan, got the card in Jan, spend hit in March and well we're in July today… they definitely have an issue with their scripts for this and refuse to properly investigate the problem. Everytime I contact support staff, simply told to wait until the end of the next statement period…

  • no more 50 dollars qantas rewards fee now from westpac website. hence this deal should now be removed..

Also, does anyone have any tips on repairing fist-sized wall holes?

    • Yeah there is.. if you are clicking through the finder deal:

Annual Card fee: $0 annual card fee in the first year* ($150 thereafter, plus a $50 Qantas Rewards fee applies for customers who choose to earn Qantas Points through the Altitude Qantas rewards program).

The card bundle is not on their site… only the altitude black bundle seems to be on there.

  • Quick question guys. I applied via finder on 16th of June and they conditionally approved it on the 1st of July. Then this morning - 5th July, I got seperate emails from both Westpac and AMEX saying it's all approved and the card is on the way.

It's too late to call Westpac to check as they are closed so I'll have to call them tomorrow but am I still eligible for the bonus Qantas points offer? Conditions say apply before 31st June not approval by the 31st of June.

There's no mention of any application/annual fees or thw Qantas $50 fee.

    • All these deals are based on application dates so you should be OK but always pays to check and keep screen shots.

  • Anyone already got their bonus points? How long did it take from meeting the minimum spend?

    • Took me a month on the westpac card.

  • Spent my 3k … still waiting for bonus points

    • See above. You can call them to check that they have your qff on file.

      • In statement i can see my QFF number.

        • +1

It was on my statement too but wasn't credited after first month. When I called the operator said it wasn't linked (even though it was showing oh the statement).

        • @Heybargain: Same here.

        • +1

          @Heybargain:

Called 1300 132 431(direct no.) and was advised it may take upto 90 days for bonus points to be credited.

        • @Heybargain: Indeed you have to call up to confirm the link, I didn't even receive my base points for the first statement, they said because I previously had an account with them they have my details, but aren't "linked" hence I didn't receive my points. They should come in with the second statement points… said them.

        • @iversonjack: I received my points (earned + bonus) and second month earned points after my second statement was issued.

        • @hammer07: you'll probably need to wait until your second statement is produced then to confirm.

        • @Heybargain: and

Already got 2nd statement few days ago. I can see bonus 15k points plus 60k in 1st statement. Rep over the phone advised I might have to wait for up to 90 days from the day $3k spent was met.

        • @hammer07: righto. Good luck with getting those points!

        • @Heybargain:

Do the bonus points show in the statement? Have done the spend, but in my first statement only the earned points show, and nothing has come through to the QFF account. Called and they said to wait for 2nd statement…

        • +2

@gunz: my bonus points showed up on my second statement

  • In case anyone was wondering I was chatting online to AMEX about my Westpac AMEX and he confirmed I can apply for AMEX direct deals that have bonus points! I thought I read on this post that I couldn’t get it for 12 months, but I could be wrong. Will be doing that after I get my 3k points.
