      unfortunately it was a 24 hour sale, not comparable to these systems currently being offered on here.
      Harvey Norman and JB HiFi may have that system available again in June but not certain the $199 sale price will be offered.

          Hello RickyCruise,

          We've tested to 100m. It is possible to get more distance however we recommend a POE switch with power or booter if more than 100m.

      Thank you for your comment. Please note the length of cable in the package offered is 18m ethernet cables.
      Th maximum tested was 150m with a powered POE Switch needed at 90m or 100m to get to the 150m mark.

    Thanks, grabbed myself a 4 X 5MP camera set.

    Can you run a special on 4 X 4K cameras too? Or are other 4K PoE cameras compatible with this setup?

    With all these gun nuts buying up big on bargains lately I'll feel more comfortable having some surveillance available.

    Actually found some info on the 8 camera model here: https://www.swann.com/au/swnvk-874008
    It says 48v for the NVR and 12V for the cameras. Does that mean the POE output to the cameras is only 12V? Standard POE is 24v for for cat5e.
    Could the rep please clarify as I need cameras a lot further than a mere 18m from the NVR.

      Hi ccwd

      The NVR uses PoE which is 48v, not 24v. The camera can be powered by 12v DC if PoE is not available but this is only there as a backup and is not needed to be used when the camera is correctly connected to the NVR’s PoE ports.

      Correctly terminated CAT5 cables should run up to 100m from the NVR as per the network standard subject to external factors which may shorten this distance which are beyond our control. We have tested at this length and can confirm the NVR and cameras work ok.

    What is the difference between the model being sold (SWNVK-875004-AU) vs what's on special at Costco (SWNVK-875808)?
    From what I can see …

    One sold here (SWNVK-875004-AU)
    - has 4 cameras (NHD-850 Camera)
    - comes with NVR8-8000 Digital Video Recorder
    - priced here @ $799

    While the Costco one (SWNVK-875808)
    - has 8 cameras (NHD-865MSB Camera) which seems better as it is identical to NHD-850 Camera but also captures audio, 40m night vision (compared to 30m) & better viewing angle (82deg vs 63deg)
    - come with NVR-8580 Channel Network Video Recorder (not sure how is this different to NVR8-8000 above)
    - priced $1129.99 (but comes with 4 additional cameras too)

    Any insights would be most appreciated

      the costco one looks to have better recorder (nvr-8000 vs nvr-8580 - smaller size but only plays back at 15fps) and cameras (nhd-865 has ir/thermal detection) - but i am guessing the nvr-8000 one is a 'pro' version …

    Reviews of Swann systems don't fill me with confidence. Looks like an excellent product, but reviews suggest set up and reliability could be questionable.
