I thought you knew this JV. They're $229.

Everyone's gotta remember though that a new model is right around the corner.

OW still has it at $225, so you can get it for 199-5% = $189.05

I only know what's in the deal post…

Everyone's gotta remember though that a new model is right around the corner.

There's a strong rumour they're going to include a better sub woofer

    • +3

We still haven't even figured out time travel or light speed travel yet. How do you expect them to even make longer lasting batteries?

    • +5

Have you checked if yours are defective? I have a pair which I use a lot at work and commuting. I put the case onto charge every couple of days and that is plenty.

Or you are not bothering to put them back in the case when not listening to them.

Note: I picked these up from JB-HiFi about 6 months ago on sale for $185.

      • He is talking about being able to listen continuously without needing to put them back into the case to charge.

    • Waiting for perfection is like waiting forever

    • Put them in the case when you pee. It if you pee for about a couple minutes, that charges the thing for a couple hours. You should also empty your bladder regularly.

Literaly the best device I have bought / used in years.. I don’t go a day without them..I am still yet to understand the hate some people give these. Specifically related to your comment - mine last at least 4 (maybe 5 last I checked) hours and if I’m still listening longer than 4 hours ‘continuously’ I then just take one out for 10 min to charge in the case, and then switch to the other one for 10min… so a total of 20 min with one earphone only and I’m back to another three hours of both continuously.

Plane use is actually great for me, but given they are wireless (bluetooth), and not noise cancelling, then plane use was never their intended purpose anyway.

    • Get active noise cancelling Sony or Bose headphones 22+ hours battery life, will active cancel out plane noise.

Great for looking like a toolbag in public.

    • +7

I might look like a ‘toolbag’ but they are still the best device I use/have used in a long long time.

Maybe Second gen will make them look different but personally I’m now ok with the look.. enough people have them now to allow them to blend in.

True. No criticisms of the functionality of the product. I'm a fan of Apple and use an iPhone myself, I just think these look silly. Would much rather a pair of bluetooth headphones than these.

  • Hopefully next gen come in more colours

      Me too!

New version with a case that supports wireless charging will likely be available soon.

  • Dont forget that will increase the price every where $50 and at least $100 for beloved Australia.

    • Due to exchange rate ?

      • Nopes due to an increase price of this one part by 2cents.

      • +2

Surprisingly at the moment, there is no "Australia Tax" on the AirPods, in fact we pay less than Apple USA's RRP. $159 USD RRP = ~$210 AUD + 10% GST = $231.

Why doesn't JV get banned for these dumb comments on every deal.

    • He brings in about 50% of the revenue for scotty lol

so far the best headphones I've ever had, I still use the corded ones from time to time though mainly to preserve the battery when traveling.

officeworks now listed the airpods $198.00
    https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/apple-airp…

  • Are these even good and worth it? (In terms of quality and practical use?)

    • +2

      Yes
I bought them a couple days back and paired them to my note 8.
Download the AirBattery App if your on Android and your all set.

In ny Opinion..they are the best wireless earphones I have owned.

I prefer them due to size over my QC35 and Beats Studio Wireless 3.

They are a must have ;)

Ps: If your on Android you can buy the Assistant Trigger App from Playstore and assign the Double Tap feature of the Airpods to Google Assistant.

    • Yes. I was skeptical about them at first, but got one and really like them.

  • WWDC Next week, air pods 2, and new case with Qi wireless charging.

    • In order to charge it wireless.. You have to purchase additional charging brick.

      • Nope. already got 3 charging stations, been invested with wireless charging for years now.

Still will get airpods they are the best design in the market at the moment, AND they work better with android after first pairing lol, got apps to do more functions than when connected to an iOS device, don't know why apple only lets you select either activate siri, next, or previous.

Why no long holds and hey siri detection.

Using them on android you have long hold/hey google detection and previous or next by the number of taps.

  • I recently bought this and linked to iPhone 6 which doesn't seem to be best marry-up with airpods.
Sounds are intermittently break up and and I had to hold up in the hand, not in the pocket.
    Anyone has the same experience?

    • I have the same problem with my QC35s though I think the problem started when I dropped my iPhone 6

  • I have Harvey Norman Gift Cards, anyone know if Harvey Norman actually honour their price guarantee?

  • got one in previous myer's deal. price match TGG(199) and use myer gift card (purchase 200 and give 20 for free).

  • +1
