Was a great game. Too bad a sequel will never be released.

      why's that?

      • +4

The developer United Front shut down 2 years ago. Not sure where the IP went.

        • wow that's surprising given how popular this game was…wonder what brought them down…

        • +1

they tried to make it an MMO, $_$

        • Not sure where the IP went.

So you don't know that there will be no sequel then?

    • +1

It was pretty good. Basically GTA in Hong Kong, but not as good as real GTA from what I remember.

      • +9

Some would say it is better than the recent GTA games. It provides something different and is very story driven without getting too convoluted.

      • +1

Certainly in some ways it isn't as good as GTA. But it certainly has it's own character and is worth a play, as it's clearly not an attempt of straight up GTA clone.

The hand to hand combat system and story I found were the main ups it has against GTA. Love the HK vibe too

  • Is it worth getting for someone that already has the original with all DLC? Are the visual and auditory changes worth it?

    • DLCs are worth playing, it is basically a couple more hours of gameplay in the same universe (albeit a different island for one of the DLCs)

But the visual changes are a bit of a taste thing, something looks better on the new one and something looks better on the old one.

Having said that I own multiple copies of this game and I have thoroughly enjoyed every play through (PC/PC Definitive/Xbox 360/Xbox One Definitive)

  • I finished the main game on ps3. Anyone know if I could get it on PC and play the story extending DLC right away or would I need to complete the main game again? It was a masterpiece but given the size of my backlog I probably won't play it again.

    • +1

I kind of remember that at lest one of the DLCs were through a separate menu

      • Thanks, yeah it seems Nightmare in Northpoint and Year of the Snake can be accessed through the menu. The rest is unlocked through the main game. I mainly just want Year of the Snake so this will be good.

Definitely one of the best single player games for me.

  • +3

    Definitive…can you define that?

      Settle down James

Get this if you haven't already and then some pork buns.

    • +3

A man who never eats pork bun is never a whole man!

This was probably one of the last games that truly sucked me in. As others have said, think GTA in Hong Kong. It had a great story and played really well from what I remember.

  • worth 5 usd on steam?

    • +1

      Easily.

      • can someone double confirm?
it's 4.49usd (I already have balance on steam which is why I'm not buying from here)

        • Do you like GTA style games? It's been a while since I played but from what I remember it has good action, combat, story, driving and a few celeb cameos. The music was pretty solid too. I'm sure there's plenty of youtube reviews.

        • @phil1311: I mean I like GTA…haven't played any 'gta style' games other than the first just cause on xbox 360 but I don't remember that. YouTube reviews are incredibly biased/over-exaggerated in my experience.

Your forget the end, Cao hai…

        • @Basimx: Sucks to be you. My 250 plan took it out in no time!! 😂😋

        • @Munki: This is a very useful phrase if you'd like a Hong Kong native to delay you no more ;p

        • @Clear: Got room in your basement? we are running solid adsl2+ spread between 5 family members…you can imagine how bad that can get when everyone is home.

  • Code not working for me :(
