Saw this at Bunnings Springfield, QLD today with plenty of stock left. It is only the Warm White colour at this price, the cool white/daylight is normal price. No idea whether they are priced like this at other stores.

Works out to $1.875 each, so super cheap IMO. They seem pretty beefy in terms of heat dissipation and have a little bit of light leak out of the sides as they tend to stick out more than any other MR16's I've seen.

    Got some of these a few days ago ($8.01 at Bunnings Logan Rd (Qld)) as they are dimmable. Swapped out the 50W halogens, but these dim down, but not up again. Also a couple do not start every time. Need to turn the power off/on a few times to get them going. The old halogens dimmed fine, so not sure if the LEDs are not compatible with the transformer. YMMV

      Assume the light output from these was less than your halogens?

        They are pretty much the same as the halogens I reckon. These are the warm white too, so I can't really see any difference light-wise with my untrained eye.

      Your dimmer needs to be replaced. You need something compatible with LED lights.

    Am i to assume all downlight globes with the 2 thin pins are MR16?

      No, there are different spacings for the pins. pretty sure mr16 is the most common though.

    Has anyone blocked the vent holes on these somehow?
    Noticed not all LED MR16's have these vents.
    When I remove the current halogens there is always accumulated debris on top of them.
    Don't want that coming through at will.
