  • i thought fortnite had taken the market segment from pubg ?

    • Correct. I presume it's the cause of the price drop here.

      • Na, the price drop is because this is from a dodgy CDkey seller aka CDkeys.com

Its $30 as always on xbox store and steam.

I’ve bought quite a few games from cdkeys and never had an issue. Keys always delivered within a few minutes, not sure what’s so dodgy about them.

        • -1

@hunters: My understanding is that they sell a lot of keys that have been bought with stolen credit cards, and it can potentially get your account banned if you're unlucky. The other risk is apparently occasionally they'll send you a used key.
This is just what I've read online, and the people who've had their Xbox accounts banned seem to be able to reverse the ban when providing solid evidence that they purchased the key from such a site. There seem to be a lot more people purchasing Steam keys who run into trouble. That said, I also bought a couple of Xbox + Steam keys from Cdkeys before I realised, and I'm fine so far.

i often get games from g2a.com never an issue ….

don’t believe everything you read online from people, you don’t know , do some research and look at stats.

over 40 of our steam games were bought from other suppliers ……

        • @hunters: ditto

        • @garage sale: many developers would rather you torrent the game than use grey markets

        • -1

          @TarquinOliverNimrod:

Well so that makes a lot of sense, not. They would rather you torrent a pirated copy of the game and not pay a cent to them than use a grey market key which they distributed to some asian market for money. Which the game developer gets the money for any how. I'm not although talking about a key bought with a stolen credit card just a perfectly legit grey market key.

        • @hollykryten: g2a, cdkeys etc use third parties. Many times it's with stolen cards. So when the person does a charge back, the devs owe money and lost a key. Whereas, if the person torrents the game, they've only lost a key, well not really a key.
The scenario you mention is if the you were buying directly from the website, not the third party resellers

        • @TarquinOliverNimrod: you can’t torrent steam games , need code to activate …… torrent would only work for drm free games ….

many times from stolen credit cards ….how many times what percentage, we need some real stats …..

        • @garage sale: games get cracked. The difference is you can't play multiplayer

        • @hollykryten: perfectly legitimate grey market.

      • fortnite killed pubg by fortnite royale being free and chasing optional in app purchases , they tried to sue them for IP theft eg copied game concept but that went no where.

i don’t play fortnite but my son and his friends go crazy over it

        • PUBG still dominates on Android.. No fortnite Android yet so it is monopoly king.

        • @AlienC: yeah, housemate bailed on the PC version for a while, just played PUBG Android on BlueStacks. Won most of the time, I think he got bored of it.

        • @jonathonsunshine: same situation here. Bored of it but there's not much to honestly do gaming wise on Android anymore anyways. I have tried them all :(

From counter strike clones to dota clones to league of legends clones to God knows what clones.. still haven't found a half decent rts to keep me in longer than a few hours. I forget the name but there was a supreme commander/total annihilation clone that did pretty well.

I think it had support up to 8 or 12 players.

Unfortunately was the peak of mobile gaming for RTS as far as Android goes at least. Can't speak for Apple or iOS.

        • @AlienC: exploding kittens. Card game against other people. You can get it free occasionally but is worth the few dollary-doos

          https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.explodingk…

        • @jonathonsunshine: tried it.. wasn't for me was too simple.. last fun card game I played was either Carcassonne or ticket to ride maybe.

Asmodee makes some really cool games.

        • @AlienC: it's still good for killing at least 15m of commute time a day

        • @jonathonsunshine: Yeah I guess so I mean anything honestly can be good for killing a 15m of commute time a day.

    • Probably for pc and consoles but definitely not from Android mobiles.

Also if on pc you can play pubg mobile via official tencent emulator for free if you can't afford the pc version or have potato specs like some people aka me.

      Better than nothing I suppose.

  • Decent price to try this Xbox 'plaqued' title out - apparently there was a massive patch released on Friday to address some of the problems, with another one coming next week. I've never played PUBG, so this will either be a clever time to buy-in cheaply or a waste of $17 if they never resolve the problems! Thanks OP.

    • 'plagued' not 'plaqued' - sorry folks! :)

    Good deal - thanks OP

    • You're welcome.. Thanks buddy
