“Just a reminder that Cronulla’s 1st wog bashing day is still on this Sunday. Chinks bashing day is on the 27th and the Jews are booked for early January”
Charming! Actually saddening!!! I hope we grow up as a nation and not let a few deluded ones bring disrepute to our great nation

    • yeah your are right, but now days even Australian flag is made in China :-(

    • Australian like Ford, GM, Phar Lap, Mel Gibson, Arnotts, pauline Hanson, Splitz Enz, etc.

      • Silly me, I always thought Ford and GM were from US.

        • I'm pretty sure altomic's post was tongue-in-cheek as they all have overseas links

      • Arnotts aren't Aussie no more either.

Or our fellow citizens from Indian descent may say, lets buy Indian on Indian Republic day…..while celebrating being Australian.

Being Australian should not be limited to just buying Australian. One may express his/her patriotism in several other ways.

Seriously JV dude, grow up, we live in a global market. Our flags hoisted on them fuel-guzzling bogan redneck mobiles and RSLs are made in Taiwan and China. The fuel your cars consume ain't Australian. The clothes you wear aren't either. Hell even produce and groceries in our Aussie supermarkets sometimes aren't - eg Nabisco etc. Indians import steel and various other resources and commodities from Australia, just like the Chinese and various other countries. How would you like it if our trade partners adopted the same approach as you?

Don't get me wrong mate, I once subscribed to a similar opinion as yours, but then I was rudely awoken to reality. If it makes you any happier, its an Australian business selling goods to Australian consumers and all profits stay within the country. I'd rather have that than your Yankee Phillip Morrises of this world selling your overpriced Vegemites and taking the massive profits back home.

Most importantly, please don't taint or limit the significance of the great day we know as Australia Day. Its a day of celebration of who we are as a nation, but unfortunately has become a day for bigots and zealots to come out of their rat holes and chant their White Australia/ Immigrants Go Back Home/ Aussie Pride slogans.
