Grrr I paid nearly $1900 to fly to Qatar yesterday. These promos are stupid.

      • -1

No Perth, sigh - not sure why we don't break away from the rest of Aus. We send all our mining royalties east and they won't even cough up a cheap flight for us. You can't build football stadiums Qatar without iron ore. Ok feel better now.

        • lol the promo is from Melbourne only, I think best flights are organising the connections. Not enough space on their webpage so Perth had to go :P (Tasmania stays! That got to hurt).

        • Why not buy a cheap flight to the east on Tiger?

        • +5

Quick Ink. just think of it this way. You are paying Royalties for the investment made in the West for the previous 90 years or so, when there werent the mines to generate revenue….

        • Quick Ink,

Iron ore in Australia belongs to all Australians, not exclusively to the residents of the local council, suburb or state and iron ore in WA is no exception.

Does this airline leave brown paper bags full o money on some seats? …

or is that only for FiFA officials in 1st class? ;o)

    • +1

Australia received just 1 vote and was kicked out in the first round of voting. It's time to let go.

    • -1

That's very sneaky. We always expect return airfares to be quoted. Very few people travel one way and don't return.

    • +14

No this Fantastic Sale is return!

    • +8

Have added Return to the title so we do not confuse anyone - Thankyou.

  • Thats great. It just didnt say in the title or on the website.

  • I've never considered going to Brussels before so had to look up the weather conditions. I knew it would be a bit nippy given it's northern hemisphere winter but man alive, that does not look pleasant for someone like me that likes the heat… :)

EDIT: I still think it's a good deal. I'm just not sure what to do when you get to Brussels other than shiver.

Its pretty much 3 hour by train to anywhere in Europe. Eurostar to London or Paris, ICE to Germany etc etc.

      • "ICE to Germany" That's an ironic name…..

        • think ICE means Inter City Express..

    • +1

You could go to Bruges…..just down the road

      It's like a fairytale…..

      you could visit the alcoves

      • Alcobes??? what about the bar with 300 beers? Only restricted by the Belgium policy of "if we can find the correct glass, then we can't serve you the beer"

    • wear a raincoat and visit the corner of Eikstraat/Stoofstraat near the Grand Place!

  • +2

Yeah, now try searching for a flight at that price!

    • I wish the site had a matrix of prices over a period of a week or a month or whatever. It takes so long searching, changing the departure date by one day, searching again, changing, searching…..
Anyway, it's a great price if you can find it!

      • +3

Try Zuji or the airlines website direct. No bother. Got 2 adults and 2 kids tickets through Zuji for $2882.00. There goes the 65" Panasonic I've been dreaming about. On the other hand the Mrs does get to visit the family in Ireland.

        • +2

That's great. Thanks for the tip, and congratulations on the flights. That 65" TV will be so much cheaper by the time you get back from Ireland anyway ;)

        • What dates did u choose?

        • +1

Depart 10 March return 25 March. Never long enough, but that's life. Was in Brussels in 2006. Wasn't that fussed with it but I love the beer. Me and a mate basically spent three days sampling the brews and not being able to find our way back to our hotel/remember our names etc. Time well spent. Go to Bruges if you want to see the "pretty" Belgium.

  • +1

great price, too bad u have to be back by end of march!

  • +3

I've seen your posts before and have never been interested. Keep posting deals like this and you will become popular here fast.

  • wow. if i get this, and eurostar my way to london, i'd be in/out of london for less than 900. sucks i've got british tix already

  • this is a 5 star airline too!

    • what does than mean in practical services to those in Economy/Coach seats?

  • -1

Where the hell is Brussels? LOL

    • +7

Dunno, but they're famous for their sprouts.

    • +4

Brussels. Known for two things: the European Union location of government, and Brussels Sprouts. If you want to try some authentic sprouts from Brussels, head to Woolworths and try the Select frozen Brussels Sprouts. Goodness knows how Woolworths manages to profitably import frozen food from Europe and undercut the local price, but they do.

  • +1

Err it says this is available to book online but I can't find anything remotely close to that price.

    • +1

      I booked a $792.55 Melbourne - Brussels return fare from the airline's website: www.qatarairways.com

  • +3

Expedia has the same deal, advantage being that they don't charge credit card fee or booking fee. Just heads up guys. I pulled the trigger, couldnt resist.

    • Which days did u choose?

    • It seems like Expedia doesnt have flights from Sydney?

      • +1

Can't even find Sydney-Brussels on Qatar's webapage. It just wouldn't let me select Brussels as a destination from Sydney, but it would if I chose Melbourne.

        And it's $793 from Melbourne.

        • where women glow and fly qatar

  • -1

yep just booked it on qatar.com $793 a bargain.

  • crap, that is cheap!!!!

  • can i book the brussels flight but just not show up to the flight from doha to brussels? i want to go to the f1 in bahrain, but flights terminating in doha arent on special and they want $1900 :(

    • It might work if you just had carry on, but if you've got bags under the plane, won't they end up being transferred through to Brussels?

    • No, if you dont show up for the flight they will cancel the rest of your booking. Then you have to fork out or negotiate a price on the return ticket which usually comes at a high cost. Thought about it as well.

  • +1

Can't find any from Sydney to Brussels.

  • Just a quick update - we have sold around 150 tickets this morning alone via the call centre and the booking engine, If you are still looking for tickets give our call centre a call quick on 1300 767 757 and grab one before they are all gone!

    • How many do you have to sell?

    • +4

"grab one before they are all gone"

do you really need to put the hard sell tactics on here, it tends to be more annoying then informative.

Wish there was a cheap flight to Budapest early July till mid August, looking to buy my tickets in the next 1-2 weeks.

  • Now to find cheap flights/eurostar to London… Anyone?

    • Also interested if anyone has any tips… done a bit of searching but would be nice to hear from someone that has already done it before

  • +1

Good deal. Was planning on going to Europe Sept/Oct but saw this and couldn't resist. Thought waiting a week or two they'd be all gone. Still had fairly good availability though, so just booked last night for the last two weeks of March for 3 adults. Date options are starting to dry up though. Now to work out how to get to around the adjoining countries cheaply.

    • Try Brussels Airlines (www.brusselsairlines.com.au) for flights - they may have a good deal. I'm flying to Brussels then taking the train south and flying back north. Brussels Airlines had some attractive deals including Nice to Brussels for 41 EUR.

  • Off in three weeks- picked out the last two weeks in February, as a birthday present to myself. I just had to wait until my boss approved the leave. Rather than London, I'm going to go to Paris instead.
