i will wait after WWDC to make my decision, hopefully Airpods 2 will be announced

  • +4

WWDC in the early hours tomorrow, would wait to see whats announced. If theres new AirPods, I would imagine they would be similar pricing to the current series, and we would start to see some clearance sales on the current range.

    OP is knowledgable up voted

  • the V2 should have better noise cancelling

    • And a better dvd player : )

    • All they're going to have is Siri integration and be less compatible with Android.

The waterproof series is to come later.

  • wait for WWDC, dont buy it now

  • I wish these were cheaper, I like the idea of them

I wish these didnt look like you were wearing cheap plastic earrings.

  • Given what they do feature wise, they are great value. But that is tempered by how long they last (batteries cannot be replaced, I guess Apple change the entire pod for their battery refresh fee), and how long you can go before you lose one, or more…

Still, they seem better value than the wired ones at $45.00 (or risking the dodgey fakeys)

  • Upvote because you admitted that you know…..

  • Serious question for OP - How do they rate for battery life? Do you charge them heaps? Or go all week?

    • +1

Not OP but - I've had Airpods for awhile and I personally find that they do the job perfectly fine for battery life. The battery life of the buds on it's own don't quite last as long as I'd like (real life usage of around ~4-4.5hrs), and from my use the case charge lasts quite awhile - should last close to a week if you use it for about 3hrs a day.

      • Thanks for the feedback, might bight the bullet and grab some soon ;)

I use it for my 15 min walk from car to office every morning, then pretty much listen all day while on the computer (I'm a programmer).

The batteries give me the 10% left indicator around 3-4pm normally. I pop them back in their case for like 10 minutes while I go to the bathroom and they last for rest of the working day inlcuding the walk home.

So .. batteries are plenty for me.

Pretty simple to swap between the iPhone and my MacBook too (better than normal bluetooth headphones)

      • Thank you for the opinion there, most helpful. I think these will be a great option ;) Just gotta get them at the right price!

  • On the off-chance anyone is wondering about the decals, I use some black "leather" look ones from a place called DecalGirl.

I've had them for 6 months or so and haven't come off, but I've just ordered another one from SlickWraps to mix it up a bit. A bit more expensive, but I'm hoping fit a touch better (not that the other ones are really that bad)

  • And - all gone!

  • And - nothing at WWDC!
