$399 Makita X3 Cordless Kit. Hammer-Drill, Impact & Angle 3AH Batts with Tote @ Bunnings

100

Well how’s it goin everybody? Saw this on the Bunnings front just now and thought it might be useful to some people? My apologies if this is a terrible deal, doesn’t look too bad from a quick google but as always there might be better deals floating around the place.

Seeing as it’s not stated I think it’s not brushless (any of the tools) I don’t have brushless gear (except for my multi-tool (Bosch) and so far so good) but yeah apples for apples Brushless is better IMO if there on an even keel (price wise) sort of thing.

There’s this one too (https://www.bunnings.com.au/makita-18v-2-x-3-0ah-3-piece-cor…) for $499 but it looks like it’s got a brushless angle grinder so prob account for the difference in price.

Batteries are 3 AH which is sort of run of the mill these days, be right for most folks I’d wager.

Anyway, hope this is useful for someone and everyone is having a nice Friday.

For what it’s worth the previous AEG deal is prob

Cheers.

This (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/376612) is possibly a better deal but if you don’t like AEG for whatever reason I thought I’d post this.

reckon the aeg deal is much better, better company as well.

    • depends what extra skins you want ….if AEG has the stuff you want then yes ….i wanted brushless rotary hammer so ended up with makita.

Agreed, brushless and bigger 5.0ah batteries and the impact driver has more torque. The AEG driver has 195nm torque. The makita has 165nm

Makita is next level compared to AEG.

Most Makita tools are made in Japan with Japanese parts! Japanese bearings, Japanese motors, Japanese switches.

      • Nah, not true, most out of China now, just niche/specialised/expensive tools still made in Japan.

Would still buy Makita over AEG though.

        • So so i have found heaps still made in Japan it depends on how much you want to spend. Most of the lower end items have been offshore this kit would only be mid range.
Even the products that come out of China are still using Japanese parts.

    Plastic chuck 🤢

$649 for the same Makita kit all in brushless, 5.0ah batteries and a fast charger. The 125mm angle grinder you need to redeem with the manufacturer's EOFY offer.

AEG's offering is a lot cheaper.

i bought a 6 piece for $550 7 yrs ago.. good ol days of USD/AUD parity. At the time the same kit cost $1200+ locally. Ridiculous

    • Ah, the parity and better, happy days indeed.

      • When there wasn't a border wall…..

    • Wait till our prices mysteriously rise once the GST is enforced on overseas goods….
