**UPDATE **
Note, this is the US version so exact warranty procedure isn't clear, but the Australian version comes with three years warranty.
However iJustinz stated in comments the Us version comes with the AU plug for power.

Found this whilst looking at what external storage options are out there for Xbox, would be a good addition to your setup if you have a Xbox One X that would probably fill up quick with a stack of 4K game files.

Almost any enclosed portable or desktop HDD can be used for extra game storage on an Xbox One, but this "xbox branded" one are at a good price.

  • Can This be used as a regular external hard drive for a Mac? Seems like a good price for 8TB

    • might want to check on forums the type of drive inside eg green(barracuda) , or archive drive ….. i know one of my segate externals has cheap seagate archive drive inside ..

depends if you need 8tb for a mac and is an imac or a macbook, and are willing to have the drive hooked up to mains and turn it if off when not in use.

last TGG deal they did 4tb seagate portable drives for $160 …. doesn’t need external power and when you turn off xbox or notebook powers down the drive as it’s usb powered …..

not as cheap per tb as this but more flexible …….

Unfortunately it's actually $228.40 + $19.75 Delivery as it's sent from Amazon US, the AU variant is $296.99

    • +1

Plus since its from amazon us, the $20 code will not work either.

    • Thanks UPDATED, must have had too many tabs open where I saw free shipping… Doesn't make the deal as sweet, but still holds up against other sellers.

    • So it dosnt even have an AU plug -_- That's abit silly even listing it or do they throw a converter in also?

      • why would you throw in a convertor when your buyers are on amazon US and probabaly american.

gerry has fixed that for us after july when it will all be amazon au.

  • +3

Note the US version comes with only one year warranty and require and additional power cable for australian conditions. (you will also need to send back to us for warranty)

the Australian versions comes with three years warranty and does not require an additonal power cable..

plus only a month ago,, you could have got the Australian xbox edition for less than $250 delivered each from Amazon AU.. durign their 20% seagate program (I know because I bought 3)…

    • "Manufacturer warranty may not apply but you may have other rights under law." ACL stands true so Amazon AU needs to help

    • Thanks for the heads up!
I've added your comment to the top of the desc as that's pretty important info.

I guess a $5 US to AU adapter would be the cheapest route, as doesn't look like a standard kettle or figure 8 plug.
Bit of a tricky move by Amazon AU :S

      • Its actually a very dangerous move as if you buy it the item essentially is not fit for purpose out of the box (Wont work in region) so you have rights to request a refund or a converter :/

That's why any item Kogan supplies all come with the flimsy adaptor to by-pass that rule,

Anyone who buys it has rights to either get an adaptor or a refund essentially :/

        • you are buying from amazon US and they will ship, with the sku per per site which is US power pack ……kogan you buy from kogan AU ….

guess if you buy from amazon australian web sites these issues will be taken care off eg AU power packs …..problem will be the price.

      • it’s a plug pack …..buy one off ebay or you might have an unused 12 v 2amp already …..

with the stuff from gearbest, banggood usuallum is or eu , etc i bought a few plug packs off ebay and now just bin the us and eu ones.

I've actually ordered the US Version a few months back. It came with all the different adapters including the AUS adapter so no extra cable needed.

      • +1

As iJustinz said above. Seagate already come with a universal power supply plus adapters for AU. EU, UK and US countries in the box. You just attach the appropriate adapter on to the supplied AC power supply.

  • Thanks mate. Just grabbed the 4TB Xbox drive.

  • Anyone tried a Office Works price match on the AU listing?

  • -2

    "4k game files", Xbox

    kek

    • +1

Xbox One X download extra files if a game is 4K enhanced, so yes 4k game files.

Just wanted to share the features and specs of this drive.

  • Even cheaper now $232.60 with Amazon Prime(AU)

  • Apart from the colour of the Black Seagate Backup Plus Hub 8TB External Desktop Hard Drive Storage (STEL8000100) is there any material difference between this and the one in the OP listing that is white? I have previously just connected up a 4Tb Seagate to my XBox One S and it seems to work just fine. The Black Seagate Backup Plus Hub 8TB is just USD 346.35 inc delivery for 2 (two), but of course is not with the 3 year warranty on the Amazon US website.

  • I guess those have the ST8000AS0002 archive drive inside?
