Ultimate Ears MetroFi 220 Earphones $37.93 at Officeworks

130

I picked up a pair of these yesterday at my local store. They were advertised for $50.00 which I thought was reasonable but they came down to $37.93 at the cashier. Checked online and they are also $37.93 through Officeworks site.

  • I've got a pair of this, it isolates noise very well! I love it even though the earbuds hurt a bit after using for a while. Great price!

  • These are damn decent earphones with good noise isolation and other people can't hear your music easily as well (good on PT), got some about 2 weeks ago from Logitech shop for either 25 or 29 bucks though…

  • these vs sennheiser cx300?

    • I'd go for Ultimate Ears.

Sennheiser, without a doubt, are the best headphones I've ever used. I can't comment on Ultimate Ears but for my money, the Sennheiser for sure.

      • Agree with modtang and jdreamer. Sennheiser ear buds are of a much softer silicone material.. very gentle. The ultimate ears do hurt after a while like jdreamer said. But this is purely a personal choice. Both sound really good.

    • i have the Sennheiser CX500 and they are awesome, they are good on buses as i hardly hear anything around me
my brother has the Metro-Fi 100 and its broken[although i think this is rare, it on the earcap piece]

    • I've had both and prefer the MetroFi 220 more as the CX300 is very heavy with it's bass. Works well if you like hard thumping beats but on vocals it isn't the best.

I felt the sound isolation was better on the CX300 though, and yes as ragflan mentioned the ear buds were a bit more comfortable. I'd weigh it up to which music you listen to more, and which aspects you feel are more important to you

Eddie (AKA Fluidtek) had these for $15 just before Xmas.

He also had 2 x 220's delivered last year:

Why bother mentioning something that was almost a year ago, let the first time user enjoy his moment in the sun.

  • Do they have microphone and a button to pause/play songs?

  • I don't think these are the 'vi's (with microphone and button).
But my take on the 220vi: The sound is similar to the creative EP630s I got off eBay.
And those damn ear tips KEEP FALLING OFF! Every time, I have to be careful while taking it out of my pocket otherwise it goes missing somewhere.

    • Really? I have used 150vi for more than 6 months but they never came off.

      • They aren't anything like my EP-630s…

    • yup…i gotta admit the silicone tips on my 220's keep falling off too. REALLY annoying.

  • OW is also selling Logitech Metro.Fi 100 Earphones for $12.61 http://www.officeworks.com.au/retail/products/Technology/Mul… Does anyone know how are they in terms of value for money? I was using Metro.Fi 150vi but they broke near the 3.5 inch jack. But soundwise they were ok.

Also can someone please advise me a earphone from this page (range $25-40)?

  • I bought the MetroFi170 2 years ago for $80 and they were absolutely fantastic! I would not mind paying $80 again for them.
These UE's for $38 is an absolute bargain and you won't be disappointed.

  • I had a pair of 150's and one earbud stopped working after a month, I'll stick with Sennheisers from now on.

  • Ultimate Ears are good if you listen to acoustic music, they are VERY clear and crisp, but terrible for bass.

Choose by what music you listen to.
