  • AUD in price please…

  • Very tempting price considering I have to pay $260 to get my S8 Plus screen replaced (again)

    • +1

Though if you crack this screen it'll be $400+ using third party parts since Samsung won't fix grey import model

      • Good point, they never did ask for a receipt for my phone though but I guess they could have checked the IMEI

  • Great value phone for this price point

  • A lot of negative feedback from buyers.

Plenty of happy buyers on OZB. Start here

I broke my dual sim grey import screen last thursday. Went to samsung to get the $260 screen replacement. They told me to F off you dirty scumbag.
Did a walk around on other shops and was. $569, $600 and $650 (plus $50 if they break the back)

Decided to to a ring around and found one at Morayfield that did original screen for $450.
They broke the back to plus $50
Some gel screen protector for $40
    New gel case for $20

Also have a similar issue trying to warranty a Win 10 Tab Pro S lappy.
Want me to pay for a replacement screen at $400 (no crack at all) before they fix the non power up issue.

I will take it up to 121 metres with the drone and drop it. Will make a good youtube video at least.

FU samsung, after more than 30 devices, im done. Im going to google pixel and back to microsoft surface and acer predator.

The $269 screens are reportedly at a loss for Samsung Australia so I can't blame them for not wanting to do the same for grey imports.

      • Pretty sure samsung makes money on samsung phones in any country. AND I CAN CONFIRM THE AUSTRALIA MODEL AND THE IMPORT DUAL SIM IS THE SAME SCREEN.
Samsung repairer cant fix samsung phones from a paying customer is dirty pool.

        • Thats not how it works is it otherwise there wouldn't be a Samsung Electronics Australia PTY

  • Recently dropped my trusty 2.5yr-old caseless Note 5 on concrete. Not a happy screen after that :(

Only Orchid Grey left on this Note8 deal. Pulled the trigger @ AU$730.58. Hope I'm not going to regret it.

And I hope the new phone will not go un-cased for another 2.5 years :D

If you don't like cases, like me, you could try vinyl skins.

      • Good bloody point!

I think grey imports are fine especially if you are tech savy. I went for this deal cause I have fixed cracked screens on my Note 5 and wife's s6 myself for under $150~. Bought replacement screens online (thankfully didn't break in delivery) and then hour later was like brand new. I think future generations being a little more tech-savy people will tend to fix things themselves. I have built every computer I have owned and even added or replaced parts in Macs or Windows laptops.

So I am interested in seeing the landscape of insurance and warranty changing drastically in 10~ years time.

  • what's the difference between s8 and note? would worth to upgrade from S7 to S8, thanks

    • Note series is generally bigger, and has an S-Pen stylus.

  • Remember the note 9 is out next few weeks, good price though.
